发帖数: 2583 | 2 其实没有必要神化IBD的position，banker和coder适合完全不同性格的人，
如果你是banker那种人，自然就会走到那里去，非要先拚死学下C++到投行做coder，
然后再转到做banker，绕这么大一圈，那完全是浪费生命，有这个时间干点什么不好；
而且banker的人不是版上大部分人的思维方式，硬要扭过去也学不像，
迟早要被挤出来。
所以做coder还是要看自己喜不喜欢，如果不喜欢，那一开始就不要做；
如果自己喜欢，谁会在乎是不是“二等公民”？也就中国人喜欢比来比去，
公司里面很多美国人做一辈子coder，我看他们每天开开心心上班写的high，也没
整天想着转banker。
你可以嘲笑这些code技术含量低，问题是公司里面干活都能够有多大区别？
真要多学术有追求的，应该去做faculty搞图灵奖去，其它都是五十步笑百步。 |

1。陪买主一起去了另一家专门擅长 transmission 检查的 mechanic，描述了所有我们
知道的情况：踩油门加不上速度那些，年初的时候老公对车的怀疑，等等。然后做了详
细的检查，周五一下午，周一一上午。（买之前买主拉去做的是 free transmission
check）
2。检查结果是好的! 也就是说，至今三家车行检查结果都是好的，第一家是过去两年
我们 regular 去的那家车行，第二家是买主买车前自己选的车行做的 free
transmission check, 第三家是买车后我们去做的最详细的检查，也是买主指定的车行。
3。车行的人也说了，两千多块买这车也是fair的价格。 （kbb $3400）
4。买家当初听说我们年初的时候去车行检查过 transmission, 故心生怀疑，现在三家
检查都说好，车行也说价格fair，买家也没什么话好说了，也没有理由退车或者愤怒了。

site,是另外一家公司的，都是corporate finance方向的entry level position。
investment firm的数量跟用到corporate finance的公司数量比还是少多了，我大多数
的电面和on-site都是corporate finance方向的，下面我仔细介绍一下我经历的非投资
公司的电面内容
1。银行
因为以前的银行背景，所以陆续申请过一些银行职位，职位有teller, banker,
treasury analyst, mortgage processor, credit analyst，从feedback上看，可以说
我都没有希望了。teller, banker对学历的要求非常低，有高中学历即可，同时ideal
candidate需要有1-2年左右的sale经历，工资是commission based那种。我以前做过一
段时间信贷客户经理，所以sale经历勉强还说得过去，可是学历是硕士，所以严重
overqualified.

今天去citi, 跟banker说3月前申第一张卡forward被拒了(理由是no reference for
credit, 都怪之前没上money版). banker建议弄个1k的secured card或者搞个1k的loan
来build信用.
btw, banker认为authorized user不顶用. 虽然的确是会report到信用公司,但是不可
以作为credit reference.(跟一月前拒我boa student card的csr讲法一样)
btw2, banker说ms在utility里只有peoples gas才有每月报payment到信用公司. ComEd
在申请也搞每月上报.
看来经济不好,弄卡不容易啊...
最后我secured card和loan都弄了. 前者30刀年费,后者39 financial charge(7.5apr)
折去利息后大概也是30刀 |

account 等都是 ways to avoid monthly fee.
3. 开户60天内,一次符合要求的DD即可; DD单笔数额有没有限制看coupon上的条款 (>=
500$无风险). Discover 行不行可以试.一般行的话,DD被processed的7天左右都拿到
bonus了. 早点试，防止误了60天。我知道的可行的方式(亲身经历和身边例子,都是一

1%的消费，去年做intern，听组里的同事介绍各种信用卡攒点，投资理财，感觉新世界

从去年7月份到现在，我申了UA,sapphire,FIA卡，都通过的很顺利，但FIA的limit很低
，才1000，我去年寒假回国的机票也是拿UA送的点数换的，以前从来没想过坐飞机攒里
程的问题，估计浪费了一张国内往返了……
前几天网上提交了UA申请，昨天去chase开saving和checking account，banker说可以
帮我查一下，今天告诉我我的申请被decline了，我的信用记录已经5年了，按时还款，
excellent score……
在版上考了一下古，打了chase的reconsideration电话，里面人说拒绝我的原因是我在
半年之内申了太多卡了，因为UA去年7月申的，还不到半年，我问能不能把我UA的

没办法...你觉得为什么富国银行要提供这样一种checking account : The
Opportunity Package from Wells Fargo is specially designed for customers who
have been unable to open a checking account due to their prior credit or
banking history.
像PenFed，DCU这种credit union，只是要求开个savings，至少存$5，而且这$5只要你
还是成员就取不出来. 你会认为这样子肯定不care your credit history吧？实际上是
100% hard pull
你要是说只用passport不用SSN去branch申的确可以免去hard pull的可能性，但有些
bonus只能网申，branch拿不到。另外banker是否正确把coupon apply也不好说，没有

信用分不够，估计不行，banker说没事，去查一下，然后系统里一输入，告诉我给批了
个2000额度的普通信用卡，全部消费1%。当时晕了，怕已经hard pull了，只好接受了
这个卡。。。banker说没事，他客户以前也遇到过，一般建议是用6个月再升级到cash+
。这个卡可以转换成cash+？ |

The rep just asked for the name of the AU and said she would forward my

banker said she put in the request. Then the waiting game began:)

line说是will notify writing in 2 weeks）。然后banker帮我给后台打电话之后拒了
。我recon再次被拒。然后banker说开一个business checking可以special recon，于
是我开了一个business checking, 存了77k，上周四banker给fax了special recon的文
件。
今天打auto line，message是will notify 7-10 business days in writing. 听起来
好像不是个好兆头...都说3月会对ink plus实行5/24，那我是应该明天让banker打电话
去催，还是顺其自然的等呢？
另外，我自己recon悲剧的理由是：
1) too many inquiries
2) too many credit or loan accounts opened recently (我去年申了15张cc)
3) Business too new

被chase的banker给耍了.
去local branch申的Marriot Premier visa signature,
banker说有pre-Q.于是申了.banker说approve了.
刚打这个电话:800-432-3117,说deny了,5/24 reason.
麻痹的banker.
大家以后去branch要小心了.
PS: marriot business同一天申请的,过了.一个DP,marrito business不考虑5/24. |

，就像我一月份去申请CSR一样。
没想到给了驾照和FREEDOM卡后，说有PREAPPROVAL OFFER，（最近几个月去过两次，每
次都说有的）。还给我们看了屏幕，大概列了6张卡吧，像信用卡一样的大图标。有
SLATE, UNLIMITED, CSP, CSR, EXPLORER等，当时比较纳闷，我说CSR还有PREAPPROVAL
啊，BANKER才说CSR没有PREAPPROVAL了。
反复确认这些是PREAPPROVAL后，开始申请CSP，竟然还问电话，收入什么的。最后申请
要电子签名，是让你自己输入驾照最后4位。奇怪的是他们系统里面LD的驾照竟然还是6
年前的，所以输现在驾照后4位通不过。然后BANKER进去改成现在的驾照，但是还是通
不过。BANKER说估计要等系统更新，说APPLICATION PENDING，要不星期一再去。
难道最近CHASE的申请程序变了？怎么感觉很不靠谱啊。BANKER倒是说了他们近两个月

发帖数: 1301 | 31 问题是chase的Mortgage Banker不会直接给你最好的rate的，你要多去问问其他家银行
的rate,拿到别人家的offer, 然后他们才会答应match(给我办理的人一开始说match没
有问题，隔了4天后，告诉我经理不批准，说话太没有信用的）。
我试过很多次，如果电话查询的话，我的mortgae banker给我的rate总是比当时市场上
的高至少0.5个点,有时候甚至比chase自己的网站还高（我的banker解释说：网站更新
慢，不准确）
希望我的是个别现象，也希望大家在办理贷款的时候，多留些心眼，不要太相信banker
的话。
