大家都知道反对byb，但事实上很多人在byb那里买狗。byb不光指随便拉两个同种的狗
就配小狗的，或者是给自家狗一次当爹当妈的机会的，那种是真正的byb，需要绝对抵
制，pet overpopulation有他们很大一份。我这里指的是那种可以称为breeder的，很
多可能还是AKC注册的、breed club的会员，但是他们的breeding philosophy不对，
breeding方法不对，对purebred dog的打击也最大。
有一个误区就是只看breeder的种狗怎么样，而不看breeding怎么样。好狗+好狗一定生
出好狗吗？不一定。如果这个breeder只管种狗的品质，哪怕她的狗是千里迢迢进口过
来的真的优秀的，不会选择合适的搭配，后代不一定优秀。我虽然啥都不懂，但我知道
这里面学问很大，好的breeder一定会在这上面花功夫，不好的则完全不管。所以你跟
breeder聊天的时候，如果她只说sire和dam有多好多好，而不是说为什么选择这个搭配

作犬，breed猫主要是观赏性质，貌似大多breed都是比较近期才兴起的
我有时会想要是那些纯种猫不那么好看就好了，就会有更多的人不去买猫而是领养。不
过如果没有纯种猫就看不到网上漂亮养眼的美图了，所以很矛盾。。。 |

其实，frontosa是成熟比较晚的cichlid了，我从来没有耐心，所以一直没有breed成功
过，而且缸也小，所以现在全改养小的了。
三年其实还是早了点，一般要4－5年左右才能性成熟。如果你的male有8寸，felame有6
寸，应该也能够breed了。如果你想breed，我这里有点小窍门，不是我的，是从朋友那
里学来的，如果你真想breed它们，不妨试试：
1）feed high protein food twice or three times a week：shrimp或者krill最好，
NLS 1－3 mm pellet 作为主食。逐渐增加high protein food 的量，但是不要
overfeed。维持1－2月。
2）large water change，at least 50％－60％。you will see spawn very soon...

我都不會在這裡嘮叨.
為什麼我前面講樓主缺乏養這鍾貓的sense？計劃bengal，savannah，cheetch等等之前
，以及鼓勵和推薦他人養這些breed之前，至少要搞清楚幾個基本概念。單單比較
breeder考察貓父母是不夠的。
1. 什麼是domestic cat, and what's exotic cat
2. what's purebred, what's hybird
3. what's your expectation
樓主想要一隻good looking, purebred bengal with paper and a gentle domestic
cat temperament, 在很大程度上，這是一個悖論。這些breed本身就是hybird，是wild
cat和domestic cat培育出來的。無論F幾都好，離F0F1越遠，他們身上的斑點就越不
明顯，性格也更gentl，更沒野性.

blenheim)。明天就要和Breeder签合同了，请同学们帮我把把关，谢谢！！！帖子比较
长，附有breeder对几个关键问题的答复，contract，小狗照片附在最后。
Breeder是一个中学的特殊教育老师，40岁的白人大妈，自己有4只King Charles， 自
称hobby breeder。Breeder很有耐心，解释很多知识、接受照顾训练小狗的方法。我选
择的狗是她的second litter，有7只puppy（很高产）。
去Breeder家看过小狗，家里整个地下室都装修成了工作间，有专门的小狗的nursury、
有摆放大狗crate的专门区域、有专门的工作区域，家里非常整齐、干净！
Breeder坚持要求照看小狗到第10周，会有各2次的dewore和vaccine，第8周会开始
crate training。有一年的健康保证。

bark - 我家的平时基本不出声音。除非有人敲门
hair - 这个是会掉。不过大多数狗也都会
back problem - 看breed了，好点的一般没问题。
food - 有的corgi不那么爱吃东西。treat还没有玩具有吸引力
stubborn - 没这回事
狗个体性格差别极大，同一breed的两只狗差别可能比不同breed的都大。拿一个breed
来概括狗的性格的基本都是瞎扯 |

companion的，要breed for show/performance
因为为钱而breed的，当然要利益最大化，健康和性格都放后面。而为show/
performance的breeder去breed一窝狗，是自己要留至少一只的，那当然要考虑性格健
康还有能力
所以我的办法是看dog show/sports里面比较成功的狗都是出自哪家kennel，kennel的
名字一般都会在狗名字里面，而且show result很多在网上都可以查到，非常好找
然后我会follow那个breeder的facebook，看她的为人，还有她卖掉的狗。如果这个人
的negative评价太多，你就要注意了，比如你说的这个breeder

mendelian ratio of getting your target genotype is no less than 1:4 ( below
1:16 is almost mission impossible). This way, in general, it takes one round

Toads’ earthquake exodus
Common toads (Bufo bufo) can detect impending seismic activity and alter
their behaviour from breeding to evacuation mode, suggests a new study in
the Zoological Society of London’s (ZSL) Journal of Zoology.
