than other places.
But excluding that, palo alto is not the safest place
in south bay anyway because of stanford, downtown,

they really do not come across as smart kids, all of them kind of just bum
around, many look quite ugly. on back-to-school day, the school organized a
choir singing on their lawn, it was very badly organized, the performance is
super amateur.

三年前搬到了这个鬼地方. 当时这个城市是全美犯罪率第四高的地方, 今年则荣登榜首
. 本人在美多年, 从未被偷被抢, 也就是在这里, 车子被砸,七七八八总共损失了千把
块钱. 学校的警讯, 也几乎是一周一个入室抢劫, 或者是街上的武装抢劫. 前几天本校
的一个女生, 居然大白天的下午, 在学校宿舍里被人强行闯入强奸了. 受害人的男友,
正好在我助教的一个班里, 她室友的男友也在同一个班. 看着他们又要去病院照顾女友
, 还要对付繁重的课业, 真是有种说不出的愤怒.
有道是君子不立危墙, 本来是自我保护的最高境界. 不过学业, 事业, 家业, 有时候真
是由不得人. 那么在不得不立于危墙之下的情况下, 如何保护自己, 还真是一门学问.
每次这种事发生后, 警察在邮件的最后总会加一些他们都说了不知道多少遍的

在绿道上太危险了（2分15秒左右），一帮菜鸟太多危险动作。
老二3岁，刚学ski，今天第一天上lift。
去年还小，非常羡慕老大能滑ski，今年早早就给他备了skis和boots。
Steven这点不如snoqualmie，magic carpet没有，弄小孩子把大人累够呛。
上lift用pole帮他控制下速度，在比较平缓的地段，已经自己能滑滑了。
刚在Amazon上买了Lucky Bums Ski Trainer，希望下次比pole好用些. |

, 一种是浪漫的小资。前一种去潜水，冲浪等等，后一种就不用多说了，不管哪种都是
去离岛而不是本岛。本岛和附近两个岛（即使旅行社去）也没啥意思，哄哄像肥屁那样
的还行，在我看来根本就是浪费时间，浪费钞票。你说的几个老人我看两种都不是。
星加坡/迪拜，或者新加坡/文莱，每个3天/2-3天，都很深度了，绝非一般旅行社撒尿拍
照可比，而且两种截然不同的文化氛围。新航，emirates都有388，emirates 8月才开通
了北京/迪拜的388航线，新航不知道到中国的航线有没有388的。如果有，应该是上海。 |

reel（abu garcia revo stx). 发现如果把Mechanical Brake和magnetic brake设置
好的话，并且在lure入水前一瞬间用拇指刹车，几乎就不会出现鸟巢了。
好像到秋天天气凉爽后（最高95左右：）， 鱼终于活跃起来了。用senko 和yum
dinger的五寸(texas rig weedless)涉着浅水worm fish两小时，一共捉到12条bass（
前11条都在9寸到12寸之间，都放掉了）。临走之前，换上以前还没用过的纯白色senko
试试运气，cast到一个草丛边上，等沉底后（只需要4秒的深度）一个twitch，bum，这
次真的感觉不一样了。然后这条鱼第一次让我感受到了什么是playing fish。。。我不
敢怠慢，保持线的强度网岸上走，压低竿尖尽量让鱼不跳起来，终于在第二分钟末尾让
bass搁浅上岸。心头怦怦直跳，乳剂的第一个keeper，终于到手了（37cm，14.5“？）。
还可以要包子吗？ |

最近研究表明，至少要给身体10-12小时的fasting时间，否则长肉！
另外，心理上的改变只是减肥的开始，后来的饮食和运动增肌就有各家学派，因人而异了

作者William Anderson是个心理医生，在他二十五岁300磅左右的时候发明了这个
Anderson疗法，减了140磅，然后一直保持了二十多年至今。
有这样几个重点：
1. Mind会直接影响到body.比如抑郁症、疾病不治自愈等。在weight control方面，要
用mind 的conditioning 功能--"We are driven by repulsion, as well as desire
and craving. Conditioning is the primal power source...drives you to repeat
behavior that feels good, even if you wanted to stop".
