东海岸一个小学校的计算机专业，已经读了4年，暑假过的Candidacy Exam，现在实在
撑不下去了，昨天跟老板摊牌，说想拿Master走人，老板要求我拿到Counseling的证明
，说明我不适合继续读Ph.D.，昨天跑了一下午，跟Counseling的人谈，需要做至少3次
心理咨询才能拿到证明，还需要撑3个星期，好累.
之前读的是化学专业，在考Candidacy Exam之前老板家里出了事情，很久可能都没法做
Research，化学系的前老板人很好，家里忙成一团还想着我，问我要是就这么着Ph.D.
毕业了能干什么，当时也没什么文章，于是顺势Quit，转到了计算机，化学系的前老板
还帮我给计算机系他熟的老板发信，询问怎么选课比较好，尽量帮我顺利转过去，当时
记得还写了一篇长文在Mit，感谢前老板对这么多年的指导和帮助。

- 学过的课程有些偏概率理论和随机过程，因为有过往finance发展的想法。上过的
finance方面的两门课(课本是Bodie的investment和Shreve的Stochastic Calculus and
Finance II)。但当时这方面能带学生的老师走了，就有些不了了之了。
- 工程master时上过机器学习的课，以前做过一些computer vision和bioinformatics
中的分类的projects, publication少，编程用过Matlab, R, Python, C, C++, 从
Windows换到Linux下已经四年了。
- 上过统计理论和非参数统计的课， 这个夏天为找noncap H1 的生统工作也补充自学
过regression, time series analysis, longitudinal analysis，和survival
analysis 的一些基本方法,

pre-completion OPT也是要过candidacy。审批也不是走过场的。

为难，连OPT也不给签，决定下个月再问一次，再不同意就用master学位毕业。我们学
校本来是candidacy之后自动授予master学位，但是我当时没有申请，这学期才申请，
下学期会出现在成绩单里面，然后我计划下个月申请master的OPT。问过这里国际处，
说需要系里面或者导师写材料解释情况，假设这些都不是问题。
我看到之前一个帖子说，移民局可能会认为我早就修满了master的学分，但是却没有在
当时申请master的OPT，然后拒绝我的OPT申请。这个有可能么？ |

所以，假如你真的在那个实验室不舒服的话，就应该换！不要等变态老板把你都压抑成病
才后悔。
如果你真的要换实验室的话，注意要收集证据。比方说，找个本子，每次她讲什么奇怪
的话
的话，就不动声色的把这些事情记下来：某日某时某地点，她讲了什么什么，谁谁谁当时
也在场。纪录到了超过一定数目而且前后总共超过了三个不同的人听到了她讲的话，就
拿着本子去对系里的graduate student coordinator, 或者chairman 去讲。就说你的
导师
对你精神虐待和骚扰。他们对这种事情不敢小视的。 |
