大家好 初来乍到想请各位前辈给点career development的建议
fresh PhD毕业以后现在在一家小biotech公司做postdoc，合同应该是两年，现在做了
半年，cancer immunotherapy方向的preclinical research， 用到的技术其实跟
academia差不多，如果一直留在preclinical感觉也没学到太多新的东西。但是在公司
里发现有很多跟research相关的其它方向，因为公司应该每年可以出一点点钱自己参加
一些培训，想着可以学点有用的东西，顺便给以后转方向铺铺路。现在感兴趣的大致有
两个方向： clinical research和regulatory affairs， 有些疑惑想请前辈们指点下：

很喜欢
来美国读了个EE master，top 10的学校，主要学的内容有VLSI（本来就很熟），MEMS
，fabrication，technology（偏理论计算的）等等
毕业后怀着美好的愿望进了一家大公司，面试的时候老板也没说让我具体做什么。开始
上班以后，老板分配我做RF方面，因为我以前从来没做过RF的，所有的都要从头学。而
且我们公司其实design都是外包的，我的工作主要就是verification了，成天摆弄那些
仪器，测BER，PER，interference等等。越做越郁闷，自己觉得没value，而且觉得一
直这样下去的话技术也没多少提高（我不觉得光靠测试和使用可以成为RF的expert），
不晓得自己的career该怎么发展。是不是该重新回到半导体行业？还是转行做PM什么的？

帮LD求建议，他做了十几年网路芯片solution相关的，类似technical marketing，因
为产品的面比较窄，加上时间做的比较久，所以位置还比较稳定，待遇也还可以，但感
觉产品没前途而且语言也有劣势，去年就跳到了一家做网络产品SDN的startup公司，开
始写网络方面的代码（以前写芯片的firmware和API较多，没有什么其他上层代码的经
验，主要是系统经验），在新公司写代码比较累已经一年多了，也不知道代码能写到什
么水品。但是现在LD原来公司组里又想找他回去，因为相关的人比较难找，所以待遇当
然比startup好，但是LD很犹豫，不知道该留在现在这个公司转码工前途好一点，还是
又回去做以前熟悉的东西，感觉就是没前途，以后跳槽比较窄，好处是待遇好，工作轻

，会有优势吗？机会成本是否过高？

的指导，万分感谢
有身份，第一份工作, 在KLA做engineering的工作， 给了offer，
催着要去上班，主要是长经验，salary不是最考虑的，主要是看以后发展空间大
不大，换工作方便不（应该不会在加州安家），我在indeed搜了一圈
，找不到什么相关的职位（也许我search的不对），看glassdoor上的的review，说
career growth不好，non-transferable technique。还说做product development的，
只能focus 你自己的那部分
另外也许还有laser material processing 的engineer 机会和LIDAR有关的research机会
后者比较新大部分都是在军工，估计要混成公民后可以
真诚求前辈们的指导和建议，谢谢 |

看了下过去认识的老同事，上司
基本上linkedin都销声匿迹了；有科班名校博士，也有转行的
有的是工程师干了10几年，心血来潮跳到大公司空降，一年半被人干掉
有的不到40就是senior director，同一个位置蹭了10年，整个部门被人干掉
尼玛45-55是高危期啊
不过这些人技术都平平，行业内口碑一般，早早转管理了
唯一几个撑到60好几的
一个是UCLA PhD+Engineering VP，年轻时功劳很大，撑到65才被董事会let go；整个
部门解散
一个是老专家，估计能干到自己不想干了 |
