A carpenter is trying to build some furniture, he need a list wood blocks
with different length, say L1, L2, ... Ln where 1 <= Li <= LMAX for i = 1,2.
. n. He need to purchase whole wood blocks from the shop. The wood blocks
in the shop are fixed length, say LEN, LEN >= LMAX.
Can you help the carpenter save money by figuring out the minimum number of
whole wood blocks he need to purchase?

来以后整天没事干就在后院到处挖，在木头上打几个洞也不稀奇。
谢谢楼上各位朋友的帮助。刚才去了Home Depot给他们看了照片。小二说是carpenter
bee，给了我一罐喷的东西。老鼠应该是不可能的，洞太小。也不象是白蚁，因为没有
那种mud tunnel。所以我们就先按carpenter bee治着吧。有update再上来汇报。 |

圆洞,那个是carpenter bee掏的,可以用一个柔性的小棍捅桶,进去后2-3CM后是直角左

是carpenter。然后在外墙发现了一个mound，喷了点药就走了。说没什么大不了的，也
不需要什么treatment。照片中所示的那些粉末说是可能是蚂蚁带上来的dirt，vacuum
掉就行了。说是白蚁的话，留下的grain会颗粒大一些，而且颜色稍浅一点。
下午还约了一个公司过来检查一下，但应该不会是白蚁了。好险。 |

Ground Wasp Killer,先喷到孔里，几分钟后还有就有些掉了出来。今早看，地上木屑
基本没了。按说明书48小时后，用 Elmer's Carpenter's 4-oz Wood Glue Adhesive补
平木头。你可以试试。 |

you have to to drive the nail through both wires, if the nail only goes
through one of the wires especially the neutral there is absolutely no
indication that it has happened and most of the time even if the nail is
through the hot wire nothing happens because wood and drywall are not very

1.卷钱跑：只要是大家推荐的师傅， 而且户主本人还见过2个以上他的工地， 那样基
本就是懂做的/长期做的师傅， 不是那种打短工临工的流动工人。 我还没听说过行业
内有卷钱逃跑的， 莫非户主是恶人得罪人家了？或者错请了一个赌棍磕药的？
2.关于做工马虎。 帮我家做的那位师傅提醒说：“小工做坏了一定是大师傅的错！一来大师傅应该花多点工钱请技术高的小工帮忙， 二来师傅本人应该盯着小工让他们按照大师傅的
标准去做。”
3. 水淹7军：户主需要在多花$3000水管钱和冒险之间做一个抉择。预算高的客户宁可多花
点钱少冒这种险； 预算紧张的客户只好冒险请没证照的华人师傅来做， 关键是如何减
低风险了！ 尽力调查打听到技术娴熟的师傅就是了。华人中也有技术很高的， 比有证有照的做得更好。
如果自己没出那份钱， 也没能找到基本信得过的师傅， 无法避免水淹7军， 那就只好承认自己押错了宝， 没什么可抱怨的了。
4.收尾确实很关键： 好的师傅一般会请好帮手来收尾。

装修师傅。因为当时我一开始叫我雇的老美carpenter做，他叫我找stonedepot，后来
我跟一个朋友提起，他说他姐妹也是用的stonedepot，说他们人好，再加上我在yelp上
查的review不错，就用他们了。当时是年底，我雇的老美carpenter和plumber都延期完
工，stonedepot的人按时完成任务，sink一起换新的了，没有额外加钱。不过水龙头要

永远的艺术，永远的费城
如果没有National Treasure，不知有没有这么多人来看Liberty Bell和Independence
Hall。不过不管怎样，我们是来到了美国历史上最重要的平方英里，走近了改写人类历史
的小小房间。旁边的Carpenter’s Hall也是一个有意思的地方，这里举行了赫赫有名的
第一次大陆会议，而现在这栋楼居然还是归私人所有。在里面还遇到了一个热情的老太太
，满怀豪情的给我们描述了两百多年前的情景，又无限怀念的提到了她去中国的经历，她
最感兴趣的居然是兵马俑，并要为此再去一趟中国。
离开了Carpenter’s Hall，我们远离了历史与政治，来到了富兰克林创办的宾夕法尼亚
大学。Upenn是一个很漂亮的地方，建筑很有特色。风格统一而又形态各异，与费城
downtown的建筑很是不同。

At Ypsi, the Dynasty buffet is pretty good. The location is along
the Washetnaw, west of Carpenter Rd. Carpenter Rd splits Ypsi (to the
east) and Ann Arbor (to west). If you drive along Washetnaw to
the west, you will reach downtown Ann Arbor. Try to find Fifth
and Liberty, at the crosssection, there is a very small restraunt
called Dinersty (strange name) which is good.
Of course, don't expect those are as good as the ones in big
cities...:) |

I don't have much to report. The Cardinals didn't even leave STL until around
11:30-noon today....they are expected to arrive at Fenway at about 4:30 p.m.,
eastern time.
Not sure about Cardinals' roster changes for the WS, but I certainly will
update you on that later, after La Russa dishes the info.
I'd expect Kline to be replaced .... but by whom?
Will it be Reyes, Flores or Carpenter?

"powerful offense" and looks like they don't give
too many runs. I was wrong, but I don't see many
reliable pitchers in the Texas bullpen like Carpenter.
You can argue that Cards don't have that either other
