。从Centennial Lane的入口进去，右手边就是网球场和篮球场。不要从Rt 108的入口
进。
排球，大家网球拍子也带着，那里也有几个网球场。然后我们在6点左右去hunan manor

1) 2007, river hill beat centennial in SAT in the criteria they used (not median
, or # of participants), no such update since 2007 using the same crtieria;
2) MD state-wide 2010 (non SAT) ranking, river hill is #4 while centennial
is #16;
3) below, from 2004-2005 and 2009, river hill is ranked ahead of centennial.

我帮你问了两个从小在Baltimore地区长大的ABC朋友。两个人都不是在Howard county
地区长大的，但是都听说过Centennial HS，非常好的高中。从他们的描述我觉得看生
活质量是住在Columbia较好。
Columbia is a much nicer area, between DC and Baltimore
。Columbia was a pre-planned area，so nicer communities，so, better students.
howard county is good if you're asianand you want to be aroudn asians
Baltimore county is ok too
around towsonDulaney and Towson high schools are pretty good

如果说小学，Centennial Lane 〉Northfield 〉Clemens Crossing。。。小学的人种
比例你从哪里找的？ 根据官方网站，www.hcpss.org，Clemens Crossing的AA占15.8%
，HS占12.8%。。。 如果不考虑其它因素，Centennial Lane 比Clemens Crossing要好
很多。。。 但就象你说的，在价格同等的情况下，Clemens Crossing的区房子比较新
，Centennial Lane要老很多。
如果说高中，Centennial HS在HOWARD COUNTY排第一，以看成绩为主的话。Atholton
HS大概排第四。以前，Atholton HS不行，但自从一部分RIVER HILL HS的房子给划过去
之后，成绩上来得很快。

搬了两次家），Barksdale和 Centennial都很好。四年级时因为Plano的Mathrock
program， 我女儿转到Brinker.
Brinker管理极其混乱，千万别去。 plano把Bush/Tollway交界处的apartment分到
Brinker学区，每天校车拉好几车野孩子来上学。早晨下校车时没有老师监督，孩子满
哪儿乱跑。中午饭经常是长毛的。有些学生午饭加塞，老师不管，我女儿说那几个加塞的
孩子，结果老师罚所有的孩子都到后面重新排队。我女儿在学校两次受伤（被乱跑的孩
子撞的），老师都无动于衷，什么都没做。那个Mathrock program也教得极其不当，家
长们很不满意。Brinker的设备，校园也差很多。
我们很不满意Brinker，所以现在已经转去别的学校了。
Centennial学校小，设备好，管理好，老师也好，但是富家子弟多，有些孩子很娇惯，
冷漠。

首先，和别的地方比，Howard Cnty的学校大部分都是不错的；小孩本身学习可以的话
，都应该算有机会。
所谓学校好，主要可能还是高中；HC的高中相对更好一点的是River Hill和Centennial
。所以最近的两个小学是Clarksville和Centennial Lane。还有其他几个小学也在这两
个高中辖区，比如Northfield进Centennial Lane。Veterans的问题在于有一部分进，另外一部分不进。
有一个情况是有几个小学原来在这两个高中辖区，但最近被划出来了，比如Pointer
Run相对于River Hill。另一种情况就是Waverly
；都是近几年亚洲人、中国人进去很多。这种情况是小学不错，但能不能把高中带
起来，就各人有各人的说法啦。
HC学区的官方网址是http://www.hcpss.org/schools/。我觉得看学校的这几项：一个是人种的组成（并非人种本身是个因素，但美国这儿人种有时候和教育、收入的关联度非常高），另一个看免费午餐和英语不过关的比例。 |

现在看了这么几个小学，光从网上查到的数据看，不太容易判断
1.Clemens Crossing，10分，在columbia，小学排名49，9.6%的Asian，14.3%的
African American，10.4%的Hispanic。高中是Atholton HS，排名10
2.Centennial Lane，10分，在Ellicott City，小学排名69，33.8%的Asian，4.7%的
African American，4.7%的Hispanic。高中是Centennial HS排名12
3.Northfield，10分，在Ellicott City，小学排名48，25.2%的Asian，3.8%的African
American，3.6%的Hispanic。高中是Centennial HS排名12
第一个学校和周围可选的房子总体看起来还可以，不过黑人比例比较高，不知道周围住

split-level, detached house）发生二级火灾。火灾在晴朗的中午爆发，起初房屋并
无异样，但半小时后现场迅即起火，而且火势迅猛。
据最先报警的当地居民、79岁的Sheila Muttart女士表示，中午她正在自家房前的草坪
上清除落叶，忽然看到火焰和浓烟从街对过房屋的正门和厨房的侧门看见火焰冒出。一
名20岁左右被烧伤的男子冲出房屋，大叫“水（Water）！水!”Muttart女士拨打了911
之后，试图询问他房屋里是否还有其他人。然而这名男子似乎听不懂她说话，仍然不断

市府属下两个滑雪场分别位于怡陶碧谷和北约克，前者是Centennial Park Ski and Snowboard Centre，位于怡陶碧谷Centennial Park Rd.256号，后者为Earl Bales Ski and Snowboard Centre，位于北约克巴特士街4169号。
市府指出，上述两个滑雪场都设有3条滑雪道，适合初学者和有滑雪经验的人士使用，两个滑雪场都由市府属下公园、林木和休憩部门管理，滑雪场内设有出租滑雪用具的摊位。
多伦多公交车局设有巴士路线行走上述两个巴士站。 |
