我听说Churchill的亚裔多是印度裔，Wooton的亚裔多是华裔。不知道是不是这样。
另外在老美网上听到些对Churchill的负面评价 - 富家子弟不学习，普通孩子学业竞争
大，有毒品问题等等。这些问题估计Wootton也有，只是不知道严重程度。有了解的也
请交流一下。 |

两个地方华人/亚裔都很多。Churchill原来少一些，这两年增长异常迅速。因此，学校
里交朋友都不会有问题。
如果想体验白人多的学校，你可能就要去bethesda的Whitman HS。 |

直比Churchill 差，
Churchill 亚裔猛增，就是因为 这几年中国人钱多了在Potomac买房越来越多， 不象
以前都在rockville和NPotomac
Whitman 是犹太人的天下，就不需要讲了 |

友情提醒一下LZ，我认识的一个agent说Churchill farms从Katy ISD分出去只是时间问
题，不知道真假。 |

发帖数: 231 | 20 就学区问题问了好几个人，普遍都说学区线很难改动的，katy最近在新建2个小学,就包
括1463西面的一个. 就算万一真分了不是KATY学区了，LAMAR的学区也不错，至少不会
像休斯敦有些地方一条街隔出来一个10分一个4分那么极端。
churchill farm除了看到很多老印之外，主要是看了觉得房子户型不好，katy西还是
cross creek ranch的房子看着大气，园区绿地面积大，trail和人工湖很多，会馆大，
规划也看着更开阔，很适合有人在家带孩子的可以出去遛弯。HEB在这附近买了地，希
望不久能开个store。决定住那里去了，欢迎其他劳中加入同玩。
顺便感慨一下，现在Katy房子都看到1463西面了，richmond 那边也是很多新小区，只
能说近几年休斯敦发展太快了，以前朋友跟俺描绘的吃香喝辣轻松住豪宅的景象没赶上。 |

Wotton和Churchil两个学校好像相当，那么哪个区的房子更好点呢？另外Germanytown怎么样？学区好吗？
我觉得Sanyi说的有道理，先租房子住住看，熟悉熟悉环境。但是看到现在DC，MD的房
子开始往上爬的利害，怕住一年房价就变天了。MDrealtor觉得呢？
我在Craglist看了看，听多房子，就是看不出房子的学区的信息。

Another reason, there is no new house built in these school districts, the #
of students will not increase if not decrease. There is no reason to cut
one part to put into other school district.
There are several new house building areas in 20878. The student # are
increasing quickly. There is need for the new HS. |

下个月要搬家到Gaithersburg，想两个月至半年内在North Potoma或者 Potomac 的这
两个学区买房子。听说Wotton的房子稍微便宜点。小孩子现在一个上4年级，一个上1年
级，如果这两个学区有好的Apartment或者House出租，请推荐。
前面一个帖子jiawa推荐的网站看了，但是还是一头雾水。另外，在Ellico City买房子
不知道是不是个好主意，那里好像离Gaithersburg也不是太远。
请DC附近的朋友出出主意， 多谢您了！ |

出去玩了一圈，我现在理解为啥F-150长期占据美国市场第一了。
对于美国人来说，在有限的预算里面，车的多用途性是第一位的。从这个角度考虑，F-
150/各种heavy duty系皮卡是功能性最强的车：
Commute，工作，拉货，搬家，Remodel房子，拉人，Off road，出去玩拉RV Trailer，
拉船，摩托车，一辆车统统搞定，其他的所谓Sedan/SUV/Minivan皆没有这么强的多用
途性。这样，对于美国家庭来说，家里一辆pick-up，一辆mini-van，预算加一起不过5
万－6万刀。但是功能性，可玩性可比什么德系，日系强多了。
但是皮卡油耗经济性相对不好，没关系，老美的思路是降低内饰，降低价格，再配上
Finance，足够抵消多出来的油耗了。实在不行，第二辆配个节油的车。所以美国车内
饰都很糙。

发帖数: 5 | 43 从Churchill回来已经有3个多月了。在这段时间不断看到北极熊处境危险的报道，全球暖
冬给北极熊的生活带来了很大威胁，科学家观察到北极熊的出生率和体重已经油了明显的
下降；因为冰面不厚实，多头北极熊在捕捉海豹的时候跌进深水里淹死；望着护照上“白
熊之都”的邮戳，我不禁担心温暖的气候终将会使北极熊渐渐离开人类的视线。。。
看北极熊，要趁早啊！
功略：
Churchill周围白熊经常出没，手机没有信号，旅行者不能随便乱走，否则很危险，所以
最好参加旅行团（有全包和自助多种选择）。
时间：每年10月到11月初在Churchill可以看得到很多白熊出没， 高峰时间是10月底到11
月初的2－3 周 ， 这段时间每天可以看到20－30 头北极熊还有其他北极动物， 运气好
的话晚上可以看到极光。看北极熊一定要提早几个月预定，因为当地的住处有限。
到达：Churchill周边没有公路， 只能乘坐飞机和火车到达。Calm Air有从加拿大的
Winnipeg 国际机场到Churchill的航班， 飞机都是20座的小飞机，从Winnipeg到
