具体的讲，传统的水管设计，当龙头关闭的时候，热水管里的水流是静止的。随着时间
的推移，热水管的水温就会下降到环境温度。下一次打开龙头的时候，在热水从tank流
到龙头的之前，热水管流出的是冷水。离热水器越远，等得就越久。
fast circulating。故名思义，就是把整个house的热水管做成一个连通的环路，热水
器也在其中。当龙头关闭的时候，热水管里的水仍然在缓慢流动，流过热水器时就被加
热。打开龙头的时候，等待热水的时间，就是从热水环路到龙头的水流速度，基本可以
忽略不计。fast circulating可以通过programmable on/off以节省gas。

还好,而且因为和他们以前的文章有点连续性,所以也想考虑下.
大家有什么建议呢?另外circulation research和circulation差多少? |

circulation和circulation research，都在11分以上了，以前circulation是拼不过
JCI的。
期待eLife的影响因子
今天2013 JCR IF终于出来了，今年比较有看头，因为有很多新兴的journal, 它们与老
牌journal之间的竞争是看点。简单说一下我的看法。
1. NPG
Nature publishing groups的Nat sub整体来讲继续高歌猛进，Nat Commun干掉了PNAS
， Nat Genetics/Materials/Biotech/Nanotech持续保持高Impact factor (>30), 有
的甚至比Science和Cell都高。Nat Biotech去年IF波动较大，今年强势反弹。Nat Med
这个老牌杂志现在看来是越来越走下坡路了，但是应该不会跌倒20以下。Nat Climate
Change第一年的IF非常不错，但是上升前景不是十分乐观。Nat Chem Bio和Nat Struct

章很麻烦，耽误了2个多月，材料才得以从学校寄出。个人觉得申请算是比较顺利。把
我当时准备的情况跟大家说一下也许对将要申请的人有一点帮助。
我个人从这里寄出去的材料包括：
1.国内护士执照的公正，在这里网上找的公证处，在纽约，叫最佳公正，电话
7183212810
2.指纹卡，就在我住的地方的警察局办的，free
3.handbook上的申请表，贴一张照片在右下角（handbook链接：http://www.rn.ca.gov/pdfs/applicants/exam-app.pdf）
这一页有一项是填社会安全号，我当时没有就空着的，没有关系。
4.两张支票，一张办指纹的($51)，一张申请的($75)
5.写了一封信，表示感谢，一张纸，很客气的几句话

交道。比如一台手术，circulator和scrub肯定是属于peri-op department, surgeon
和 PA 则属于他们自己的physician group, 麻醉团队也来自他们自己的
anesthesiology group, 所以一台手术，来自于三个不同部门的三队人马要在一口锅里
吃饭，大家要获取共同利益但又分担有不同的责任以及计划，你作为协调员，要组织协
调好他们，让所有人on the same page, 可想而知一开始会有多艰难。此外作为
circulator 不但要和pre-an, PACU打交道还需要和central supply, ICU等部门打交道
，需要有良好的沟通能力。此外，同事间的习惯，了解，以及信任度的建立，对医院以
及各个部门资源的熟悉程度，都需要靠工作经验的积累来一点点获得。但这些东西一旦
熟悉之后，也不是那么困难。

呵呵, 那得看你处理的问题了. SOR 对松弛因子的响应是个很
尖锐的曲线, 所以有时候松弛因子差一点点, 要迭代的次数要增加很多.
有时候选择的不好, 比LU分解还来得慢慢(在矩阵不是很大的情况下).
现在比较流行的趋势是preconditioner 加CG, 比SOR还是有些
优势的. 不过话讲回来, 选择那种方法还是要根据系数矩阵的特点. 但
是其优点比SOR要明显得多. 比如, 对Toeplitz矩阵的circulant preconditioner,
整个解的过程中只需要构造circulant矩阵的第一列(circulant 轮换矩阵), 然后
用FFT, IFFT完成矩阵相乘的操作, 然后用CG算法. 这种preconditioner的好处
在于, 迭代所需次数很少, 而且几乎独立于矩阵的大小. 如果做一个12x12的矩阵用
6次, 那么做1200x1200的矩阵还是6-9次迭代就可以搞定. 比SOR优越得多.
当然, 要是不是对速度那么苛求的话, SOR编程最省心. :-) |

Military men have been circulating a Dropbox folder containing hundreds of
explicit photos of female U.S. service members, Vice News reports. Called “
Hoes Hoin’,” the folder reportedly contains photos of women — many of
whom are identifiable — from all military branches.

摘要
sars和mers的出现表明跨物种传播病毒对人类具有威胁。
这里我们研究一种在中国马蹄蝙蝠里流行的SARS-相似病毒，SHC014。
使用SARS冠毒的反向遗传系统，我们把SHC014的spike蛋白装在了一个可以在老鼠里复
制的SARS病毒框架上，并对它进行了一些研究。这些结果显示，SHC014所属的2b类病毒
可以使用SARS的人类受体，ACE2。这种病毒可以在来自人的呼吸道的原代细胞里高效增
殖，达到跟SARS病毒类似的病毒滴度。而且，体内实验表明这个人工病毒可以在老鼠肺
里产生病理效果。
对现有的抗SARS免疫疗法和其他疗法的测试显示，这些方法都不太有效。抗SARS的单抗
没有中和病毒，抗SARS的疫苗没有产生有效的免疫效果。
（总结）我们造了一种全长的SHC014重组病毒，并证明它可以在老鼠体内和细胞培养的
条件下有效复制。我们的工作提示SARS有可能再次从蝙蝠病毒传到人类。
