十五年前的９月１１日无疑是拉登所领导基地的最成功的日子，１９位基地的恐怖
分子未用一枪一弹便将两座１００多层的世界贸易中心夷为平地，谋杀３０００人的生
命，同时对美国五角大楼亦有重创。
在九一一事件之后，几乎每一个美国人都在问：“为什么会在美国本土发生九一一
那样的恐怖事件？”对于这个问题的解读，在美国思想界的诸种论点之中，"文明冲突
”论成为解读九一一事件根源的主要论点之一，因为九一一的恐怖分子全都来自于中东
国家。
在上世纪九十年代中期，美国学者亨廷顿将“文明冲突”论（The Clash of
Civilization）推到世界的面前。其实，亨廷顿是“文明冲突”论的推广学者，而最初
提出“文明冲突”论却是另一位著名的美国学者Bernard Lewis。Lewis是普林斯顿大学

Civilizations)，主要讲三大文明（西方、伊斯兰、东亚）后冷战的冲突，现在确实是
西方和伊斯兰的冲突，中国除了坐山观虎斗，还应该两边卖武器（西方现在可能不需要
）。

不少人在论及世界上哪一个多民族国家的发展模式更成功时总爱以美国为榜样，标榜美
国建立的种族多元化模式的成功。呵呵，窃以为其实不然。我们为什么非要以那个没有
多少历史的国家作为榜样？难道我们中国自己的历史还不够悠久吗？我们从自己国家历
史上还不能充分汲取经验教训吗？美国的历史不过200多年，她缺乏古老的中华民族多
次经历患难，应对国家周期性衰落时的丰富经验。况且，美国模式真的成功吗？我想很
多人之所以推崇美国模式只是看到了她这200多年的历史，只看到了她现在世界超级大
国的地位，却疏于前瞻这个国家将来的发展趋势，现在就结论美国种族融合模式的成功
也许太近视眼了吧？
美帝国一直以来把自己看作是现代的罗马帝国，以自己是西方文明的代表自居。事
实上这两个帝国也确实有几分相似，都有称霸于世界的荣耀。不过，我要说的是西罗马
帝国灭亡了，其灭亡原因也在被今天的美国如法炮制着。这也许就是美帝国——第二个

美帝国的教育投资、人口策略、科技战略，有很多地方都是笼罩在帝国的光环下的，实
际上很多地方表面上光鲜，内里已经病入肉中。
就拿教育来说，帝国的理工研究，一半多都是亚洲人在支撑，这些人都不是在美国国内
受的高中初等教育，仅仅是来美国镀金，然后在美国工作。美国的教育水平如何，还不
是可见一斑？
科技研究，2000年以后就处于停滞状态，尽管美国的科研经费全球居首，但是过去十年
美国没有出现任何可以与基因技术、光通讯技术、计算机技术和核技术相提并论的发明

不少人在论及世界上哪一个多民族国家的发展模式更成功时总爱以美国为榜样，标
榜美国建立的种族多元化模式的成功。呵呵，窃以为其实不然。我们为什么非要以那个
没有多少历史的国家作为榜样？难道我们中国自己的历史还不够悠久吗？我们从自己国
家历史上还不能充分汲取经验教训吗？美国的历史不过200多年，她缺乏古老的中华民
族多次经历患难，应对国家周期性衰落时的丰富经验。况且，美国模式真的成功吗？我
想很多人之所以推崇美国模式只是看到了她这200多年的历史，只看到了她现在世界超
级大国的地位，却疏于前瞻这个国家将来的发展趋势，现在就结论美国种族融合模式的
成功也许太近视眼了吧？
