约翰·泰勒（John Taylor）的近况显得十分狼狈。
由于业绩连年亏损导致客户相继流失，泰勒所创建的对冲基金FX Concepts的资产
管理规模已从鼎盛时期的142亿美元缩水至不足3亿美元。这个曾经每年将2.5亿美元收
入个人囊中的基金经理也正打算出售他在纽约上东区价值2500万美元的公寓。

发帖数: 35 | 17 cns文章的写法有时候很大程度上受制于reviewer的意见。有不少reviewer坚持以实验
数据导出concept的写法。坚持这种写法的理由就是“试验结果基本上几十年不会变（
只要没有造假），但是concept(或者interpretation)“不一定经得起时间的考验，说
不定几年后就被其他试验结果推翻了“。加上文章长度的限制，有些很好的concept就
埋没在对于实验结果的描述上了。往往这种concept对于这个小领域的发展具有很强的
指导性。然而由于reviewer的偏好，concept的significance 和impact被大大打了折扣
。有时候，作者不得不将concept弱化，因为reviewer觉得文章中的实验数据只是有限
的证据，不足以完全证明所提出的concept. 这不是废话吗，那篇文章的实验数据不是
有限的。所以，常常有些文章读起来感觉很别扭。这不是作者不会写好文章，大多数情
况下都是那些固执的reviewer导致的。而读者能从中得到多少收获那只能看读者的领悟
能力了。而作者只好把concept在大会报告的时候明确的提出来，因为报告本身就是具

Like my parents, I find it hard to swallow the loss in value that occurs
when you drive a new car of the lot. That said, if the Concept Estate that
was released last year makes it to market I will bite the bullet as I will
never sell that car. I haven't been excited about a new car like this since

而且认为有一个 high concept,就认为可以吸引投资者，
就可以既能卖又能拿奖，我更加难以置信。
我认为这个世界不缺少什么所谓的 high concept.
把这个 concept 以合适的方式表达出来，能够让人们接受，引起共鸣，才是最重要的。
至于 钢的琴，我不认为它的concept有什么问题。
这不是一部悬遗片，不是警匪片。
我不认为保持住能否作出钢琴这个悬念是否重要。
实际上，到了最后，没有人care钢琴到底做得成不成功。
而且还要有出人意表的结局？这个就更加让我云山雾罩了。
难道是否有出人意表的结局也成了电影的评价标准了？
至于小concept，上一个回文我说过了，这个似乎也不能作为电影的评价标准。
至于票房，我觉得也不能作为评价电影好坏的标准吧？
twilight票房就超高。
当然如果你说票房不高所以是小众，那也许有一点道理。
这就看你对小众怎么定义了。
我认为，观众很多，反响热烈，评价很高，这样的电影不应该被称为小众。
至于你说豆瓣几万评论的买票钱，我觉得完全错误。

文了。
啥叫semantic mapping呢？就是，在你大脑里，每个概念（concept）会对应一些词。 最后会map在一个网络上.
而每个语言中，直译的词汇，不一定map到一个concept上。
很简单，比如英文的happy， 和中文的＂快乐＂不完全是一个concept，和中文的＂幸
福＂也不完全是一个concept。
专业讲，这叫＂semantic map rotation＂。在计算语言学里有好多模型，比如LSA，来
算每个语言concept之间的overlap和separation之间有多大。
所以对于true bilingual（两个语言都有很高的proficiency），你的semantic
mapping会是两个语言网络的结合。
你在说话的时候，还是去思考，和激活一个一个的概念（activate concept），如果你
说的其中一个语言中，没有一个合适的词汇，能够正好map到你想说的概念上，你就只
好用另一个语言的词汇来代替，因为人的本能还是说自己想说的概念。

好是用水做负重，下山的时候倒掉。给你个大致的我们的bench mark: 4 miles, 3300
ft, 2小时及格，1:30优秀。不是说你体能达不到就一定不能登，但是你如果能及格就
会有一定的saftey margin。登山不是跑road race，you can't go all out. when
things happen, rescue might not be immediately available, 即使是Rainier，
rescue也经常是days away

对立的都是属于concept的范畴。我们用来交流的语言就是建立在concept的基础上的，
因此佛经怎么说都没有办法揭示佛性，因为佛性不是二元的。佛经在用二元对立的
concept尽量表达beyond concept 的佛性，这个是没有办法描述完整或者传递的。因此人
们不可能通过读了佛经，或者精通了佛经就证悟了。凡是想证悟的都需要禅修。佛经只
不过解释，说明了佛和指明了成佛之路。证悟就完全需要依赖个人的修行了。 |

近年来，由中国学者创立的“斥力子理论”，经过中国科学院《科技促进发展》《
科技成果管理与研究》、《科技中国》、《中国科技财富》、《中国科技成果》等主流
科技杂志报导后，引起了学术界广泛重视。那么，这一理论究竟有那些观点震动了学术
界，值得人们如此关注呢？
“斥力子理论” 是一种新物质作用理论，实际上也是一种物理哲学理论。它的代
表性文章是《论“斥力子”的存在及其意义》，另外还包括《相对性效应和牛顿定律的
本质》、《物理学中精细结构常数的理论推导与解释》等几十篇论文。同牛顿的苹果从
树上掉下来的万有引力理论相对应，这是一个可称作“苹果如何转移到树上去的‘万有
斥力’理论”。该理论认为，地面的物体一旦动起来，不管方向如何，都具有一种挣脱
地球引力的能力，就好象物体吸收了一种对抗万有引力的物质那样。“斥力子理论”把
普朗克能量子看作是一种对抗引力的实物粒子，称它为“斥力子”，并认为物体运动状
态的改变就是由于吸收或释放斥力子造成的。

中國除了毛澤東和鄧小平，後面的都是工程師，工程師的思想是用一種機制提高某個指
標，比如
GDP，就業率等
但是conceptual的東西做得很差。concept是一個高度抽象的東西，這也是人類比動物
跟高級的體
現。
一個專業化的，現代化的國家，在concept方面一定是非常先進的。
在中國，現在最大的問題，就是很多concept講不清。比如公民的很多權利，就是不跟
你較真。這就
非常討厭。它可以隨時拆你的房子，封你的網絡，一個龐大的國家機器，隨時可以向一
個個體開刀。
如此龐大的國家公器，掌握在少數人手裡，沒有合適的監督和制衡，必然非常brutal。
國家的政治現代化，首先就是要把很多原來模糊的concept搞清楚，這是專業化的第一
步。
比如一個國家主席，到底是他自己想做，還是人民選他做？ |
