加州自2012年选举以来，民主党在州议会已经形成绝对大多数(super majority)。州参
议会40位议员里28位是民主党，11位共和党（一位空缺）；众议会里80位议员里55位民
主党，25位共和党。有绝对大多数的好处就是吵架的少了 – 以前州议会经常吵架，
尤其是在每年州预算出笼的时候，两党各执一言，僵持不下，预算一拖再拖。到了实在
无法拖了的时候，两会议长要把议会大楼的门锁起来，勒令议员们日夜连轴转，预算不
出来不许回家。有两年州政府不得不发IOU给所有要付费的地方，实在尴尬。但是，民
主党这个绝对大多数来得晚了点，因为在2010年，加州选民通过Prop.25, 决定州预算
只要有大多数议员投票过了就可以，不用再像过去要2/3绝对大多数议员同意了才可以
通过。尽管如此，民主党有了绝对大多数，在议会里基本上就是可以为所欲为了，共和
党反对是没有用的，正因如此，民主党的提案，包括那些需要有绝对大多数通过的一般

美国的高科技公司提供各种科技专才的服务。吃到一半他突然问：“你们公司还有华人
当副总(VP)的吗？如果有我想请他吃饭，就是随便聊聊”我想了一下，回答：“以前是
有的，现在最高的也就是director级别的了”。朋友当然不只是想聊聊天，他的工作就
是同这些科技公司搞好关系，这样才能有机会把自己的人塞进去。他叹了口气，说到：
“现在硅谷的中国人都给印度人打爬下了”。我想他是有感而发，他的工作比以前难多
了，因为印度人已经把持了硅谷很多公司中高层的实权位子，他根本打不进这个圈子。

三次月会。俱乐部主席Lily Bao邀请了本地重量级政治人物、德州参议院议员Van

另外还有九位参选各种不同职位的候选人或其代表也应邀出席活动。Lily还特别邀请了
