第二章 预定论简述
〈西敏信条〉叙述长老教会与改革宗教会的信仰,它是将改革宗信仰表达得最完全的信
条,其中有一段是这样说的:「神从永远,本著他自己的旨意,定下最明智、最神圣的
计划,他自主地、绝不改变地决定一切将要成就的事。不过,神绝不是罪恶之源,他不
剥夺被造者的自由意志,而且也不剥夺「第二因」的自由性或偶然性,反而加以确立。
」(译注:「第二因」与「第一因*」(first cause)──神──相对)。又说:「虽
然神知道在各种情况之下所可能发生的一切事情;可是他预定任何事,并不是根据他对

「神的预定与人的自由」这个题目是关系到「主权」与「主权」之间冲突的问题,
关系到「人归回神」的问题,以及「神的旨意」和「神意志中间所定的」是照他成全或
照你成全的问题;所以,许多人把神的道当作是生活中间可有可无的一些点缀,因为他
以人为中心。但如果你真正体会神的心意,明白他的筹算,知道他的计划的时候,你会
很感谢主 -- 我怎么会在上帝永恒的计划中间有分?我这个微不足道的小人、这个小小
的一分子,在神无限的大能中间,我竟然有分于他的救赎!如果全世界只剩下我,只有
一个我,耶稣远是会到世界上为我死。他爱我爱到这样这样的地步。感谢上帝!

圣经清楚表明:神派定我们生命的年限与生活的疆界(徒十七26),预定你我所要
度的日子与所要发生的事(诗一三九16;伯十四5)。换言之,我们的神是主权的神,神
预先定下的事,必然要按时成就(赛十四24-27,四十六10-11)。神随自己的旨意计划
,按神旨意所预定的,行作万事;神叫万事都互相效力,以达成神的美意(弗一11;罗
八28-30)。所以,我们可总结说:神从无始的永远,按神至智至圣的旨意,随神的美意
,毫无改变地预定一切要成之事。
一、“神的旨意”的本质与特征
虽然“神的旨意”是多方面的并包罗万象,然而,“神的旨意”就其本质而言是合
一的。圣经明示“神的旨意”是一完美全备的计划(弗一11;徒廿27)。因为神是全知
全智、全善全能的,神对万事的预定安排,不同于世人的知识有限短视(需要分段计划
逐期调整),乃是按照神自有永有的整体全盘计划,在神学上称之为“神的元旨 the D
ecree of God”。另一方面来说,神的元旨计划,在历史中的逐步实施,是有连续阶段
性的;因此,“神的旨意”也可说是众多的(涉及不同的时空人事物),我们可用复数
