第一，确实有些会议我参加不了。但参加了的有更多好处吗？没有。
第二，贷款买房受刁难？我乐了，做1099时确实遇到过麻烦，因为要求提供两年的1099
的收入情况。做W2 without benefit时还真没有到过，都是秒拿贷款。
第三，所谓career development，除非你打算在此单位养一辈子老，每年涨个3%5%够抵
通货膨胀的吗？多跳几次槽，既能快速大幅度的提高报酬，又能找到更适合自己的机会
和团队。而且手里现金多了才有机会做点小买卖。
不过，无论怎么选择，努力、勤奋、坚持学习、坚持取长补短都是首先要做到的。

本人现在受雇一家小公司。part time. 本来以direct employee的形式谈好了hourly
rate。
不过最后改成了independent contractor，也就是说，我自己开了个公司，好像是说可
以省payroll tax。Hourly rate 没变。
问题是：
（1）我开了公司，变成contractor，我得到好处了吗，还是和direct employee一样？
（2）我是不是应该要求更高的hourly rate？ 高多少呢？

板说有两种合同形式，一种做employee, W-2,有各种benefit。另一种做consultant，
给发1099.老板希望能做employee, 大概以防止自己到外面抢他的生意。另外可以拿
bonus.但是我好象听说1099有很多税上面的好处，比如很多expense可以抵。好象401K
可以多交一点？现在本人现在用老公的insurance.
想问有没有人可以给解释一下哪种形式可能更划算？多谢！ |

发帖数: 1087 | 36 你这个假设的数据不现实，不是每个人top 3的工资都会到15万左右的，不能按GS的
maximum的工资算。而且我想你指的15万是工资，那应该是包括DC这一带locality的，
不认为pension是按工资的百分比算，应该是basic pay（不包括locality pay)的百分
比。
现在的pension其实不怎么好，不是占退休金的大头，以前的CSRS pension还可以，在
联邦层次的retirement system其实active military member比federal employee好多
了。不过都会改变的，现在入不敷出，不可持续的，现在top 3,很快就top 5了。现在
算数字没意义，federal employee pay freeze导致这几年工资标准没怎么动了，而每
年的inflation 都存在的，无形等于减薪了。
而且你的算法假设的前提好像是pension是白拿的，其实不是，大家都有contribution
，而且contribution会越来越高，因为不改变的话retirement system是不可持续的。
