(I am talking about 50% higher or even more), because independent contractor
doesn't get employee benefits (e.g. health/life insurance, 401k, etc.)
which actually costs a lot, especially the health insurance.
Besides, as an independent contractor, you'll have to pay self-employment
tax, which basically doubles your social security tax. |

刚拿到个小公司的offer 公司就十几个人 不提供401k 我本来有些失望 但是HR的人介
绍说他们公司提供非常多的ESO （40,000 shares/4 years) 据他说这是比401k还好的
一种替代方案
我个人就觉得这是个非常唬人的说法 这种小公司股票没public 分分钟都有可能倒闭血
本无归吧？那么这些ESO不都是跟空气一样么？我就不知道是不是这种private company
的股票是否只有在公开发行后才会有较大回报？公开发行前的买卖模式是怎样的？股价
如何计算？有可能通过交易盈利么？
我反正觉得不太靠谱

去年exercise了公司的options，现在1099-B来了，上面的instruction是code to
enter when cost basis is adjusted是B，然后adjustment to cost basis要把gain
reverse回来，因为收益已经在W2上报过了。但是TurboTax上显示填写错误，而且自动
计算gain。我觉得这是不是turbotax的bug?
请高手们解答一下？ |

今年读phd的学校找我做一份远程online course的TA工作，也被告知因为我是
international employee是不需要交任何tax的．由于我还保留着在美国的银行帐号，
payroll还是直接deposit到BOA的帐户里，并且学校里我的帐户的address还是一个美国
地址，无法更改，看起来我好像还是在美国的resident． 因此最后state tax, SSN
tax, 甚至medical tax都被扣了，加起来大概有20-30%．
想请问一下我到底是否该交税，如果不应该交，如何才能claim back? － 已经不填
税表很多年，也不会每年能收到什么退税的文件之类了．
学校负责这件事的人好像什么都不懂，这件事我已经跟他联系了两个多月也没有什么下
文，所以只能来这里问了，非常感谢！ |

The manager used excused such as I did not have consistent performance, as
well as not working enough hours during my 1st trimester (I worked 9 hours

My co-worker was applying her green card under EB2 and had the I-140
approved, then she married to an US citizen and got her green card through
her marriage. I'm taking her old position and my employer said I can use her
priority date.

also in I140 it has to say a permanent position.
That's pretty much it is. Plus three years experience. |
