of stochastic volatility models. 主要用到的方法是bayesian MCMC， 对state
space model, kalman filter or particle filter比较熟悉些。

生活节奏的确是起得比鸡早，睡得比鸡晚，无论在哪里做，做得事情差不多，一般
junior analyst都是刚毕业的小本

而我认为对于一个没有金融背景的人，take这个job前必须要尽快搞明白：the
underlying income statement, balance sheet & cash flow items 以及the company
’s growth and profitability, ability to fund growth and pay out dividends
and arrive at a reasonable value for the company.
hiring manager也解释了他为何对我那个完全没有金融背景的简历还有些兴趣。原因就
是他的team里面几乎全是analysts that come in from a pure financial background

是做投行的，其实99.9%做得不是投行的事情， equity research做得也不是投行的活
，只是所以投行都得要这个职能才能接投行的活。因为skillset需要，一代移民像你我
这样的很难在美国做sellside analyst或者investment banking,即使混进去，也很难
存活。 |

s&t首先对象就是public market，跟ibd的primary market完全不一样。pb和wm都是面

个机会去一家Sell side top-ranked (top 5) research team做quant equity
research analyst position.现在有点难抉择了。。
我自己分析了下
Consulting manager: 职位高，大老板比较赏识，上升空间比较大。小地方，钱相对来
说不错。
research analyst: 一直想做quant analyst,以后往buy side portfolio management
转，这个sell side也有asset management 部门。当然老板明确说了由于我这块经验不
足要从junior作起。compensation未知，估计不会高于consulting manager.不知道
upside会不会更大。

其说是“风险小”列表，不如说是“房子难涨地区列表”。试论证一二：
1. 常言道“强者恒强，弱者恒弱”。NYC, SF地区房价高企不是一年两年了，支撑房价
的不是那个affordability的percentage，而是能afford的人口数和房子总数的比例。
这里看百分比是没有多大意义的。只要还有人能买得起还愿意买，即使affordability
只有15%又如何呢？

原帖有两个非常误导新人的根本错误：
首先那个帖子把房价涨跌考虑进来，但是这跟房价一点关系也没有，只跟你还欠银行多
少钱有关。你不是重新按现在的价钱买房，只是用新的贷款还原先的贷款而已。
第二，帖子说如果开始几年还了很多利息，那后面利息就少了，这时候refi，又要开始
忍受利息大的阶段，不划算。这显然又是基本概念错误。在贷款周期的任何一个时刻，
你的利息都是按照当时欠的本金乘以贷款利率计算的，refi以后当期利息瞬间就会减少
。之所以在还款周期初期利息大，是因为当时欠的本金多。后来本金少了，每月还的利
息少，那还本金的速度就加快了。
之所以觉得refi之后利息又大了，还有一个原因是你refi之后，由于本金小，所以每月
的还款额减少了很多，但是利率改变没这么大，然后你就觉得突然间利息的比例在每月
还款中又提高了，其实不是的，你当期利息的绝对值是减小的，唯一的区别是这个利息

银行和其他公司不一样，银行有政府部门的监管。就破产而言，对银行来说，其核心资本率与总资本率是两项致命的数据，远比负债率更重要，jpm,bac,wfc 的debt/eq也很高。如果这2个数据低于政府部门的要求，这个银行会被政府强制关闭。
