None body would accpet any false excuse, although none would speak out. It
doesn't hurt you if you assume anyone is smarter than you.
Do not 跟第二个学校打个招呼 and let then know 第一个学校. You should
minimize the impact.
If you like to give out a little bit more info about these two offers, like
locations, ranks, research/teaching, sizes of cities, opportunities for
spous to find a decent job, then others here could provide more idea |

没有断的原因是我的teaching还不错，系里面还一直愿意给我TA，其实就是独立教课。
现在我准备找工作，两手准备，teaching school为主，可能也联系一下国内的学校。
很为难的是如何解释我读了如此之久。我有一个想法就是用健康原因来解释，第一是因
为我导师的推荐信里写了健康原因阻碍了我的progress，其实我觉得我导师是说一个大
家都可以接受的excuse，给我save some face, 并没有具体多谈。第二是我真的几年前
做过心脏的小手术，有住院，有复查，有手术，但是没有开胸的那种。
我不知道用健康原因解释我毕业时间长可不可行。第一，本来是一个excuse,如果我明

这两天连续跟老公吵架，他在国内，在电话里跟他一吵架就吵到我的凌晨，第二天还要
上班，整个人都快虚脱了。然后昨天开始扁桃体化脓，晚上被痰卡醒，根本睡不好，头
晕沉沉的，貌似还发着低烧。
今天早上起来，他主动打来电话，跟我有和好的迹象，不过因为一两句话又翻了脸，我
把电话挂了。到一个小店吃早饭，想想过意不去，觉得不能就因为自己生病了就对他恶
言恶语，于是又给他电话打过去，边吃饭边听他说。我觉得我在努力调整，认真听他讲
，但他仍觉得我听他讲话不用心，我给他解释我在认真听呢。听着电话，突然好像听到
一个人跟我在说“excuse me”，不太友好，而且连续说，我一抬头，是一个比较年轻
的老墨，好像还是叛逆期的年纪，在跟我说话。我没听清，就问那个“小老墨”：“

我和老婆都自认是非常节俭的人。节俭和小器，或爱占小便宜是完全不同的事儿，不
能混为一谈。举个简单的例子，把旧报纸揉吧揉吧当手纸是节俭(当然我们还没有节
俭到这个程度)，把公共卫生间的手纸拿回自家是占小便宜，叫朋友来访的时候自带
手纸那是小器。刚来美国的时候，生活拮拒，小家里的家俱很多是捡来的，以至于
老婆养成了捡东西的习惯，见到什么别人不要的自己可以用到的东西就心痒痒的想
捡。老婆的标准是凡是扔在垃圾箱里面的以及周围五英尺以内的东西，都是别人不
要的。不巧的是我们原来住的地方，管房的人正好住在垃圾箱的边上。有一回老婆
捡了一副清洁工具正兴冲冲地往家走，管房的人从后面追了上来直喊“Excuse me,

继christmas在ER待了一天之后，娃又住了三天院，吊水的过程惨不忍睹。

如今越来越多的父母对“放养”理念津津乐道，做个懒妈妈、懒爸爸，给孩子一个快乐
的童年，这似乎已经成为当下新锐教育理念的口号。
放养派认为，对孩子放手是培养其独立性、自信心，不断提高孩子生活能力的最好途径
，而父母的过度干涉不仅限制孩子的自由发展，还令孩子失去磨炼的机会。
放养教育中不乏华人父母的追随者，尤以80后居多，这些人小时候承担了过多的父母梦
想，饱受家长的太多唠叨，且被应试教育压榨得喘不过气来，因此极度厌烦严苛管教，
自己的童年已经太辛苦，所以不想再让孩子重走自己的路。
而与此相对应的则是传统教育理念的圈养，圈养派的代表毫无疑问就是那些虎爸虎妈，
这当中也是咱们华人家长首当其冲，他们认为孩子在成年之前，必须严加管束，因为小
孩子是不可能懂得自律，懒惰、贪玩、自私等是他们的天性，不管不可能成材。

own the world as well. There will not be a 2nd chance for AMZN to fulfill
