Neil Smyth 4 Star Tournament 2013
October 28th, 20132 comments
The second annual Neil Smyth 4 star Tournament brought an extremely talented
collection of players to San Diego. The premier player was Chinese
National B Team member and current ICC coach, Xin Zhou. His off the charts
skills and nonchalance were demonstrated in warm ups where he could paint
every corner of the table at a flick of the wrist. His curling loops turned
so fast a player had to dive to retrieve them...

difficult to flick or hit early too, since hard to pinpoint where it
falls onto the table...
guess in a match only way is not to let them do this, by using variety....

That should work, and should be a good fit for your game style. Timing is

我觉得录像里教练指的“racket on edge往前带” 里的"racket on edge",是要有
) 而不是brush up/flick through the ball; “往前带”是让左手多往前挥 (甚至

(swing is good already)

拍面, 你的向右, 比较像很多老美pro的swing not fed or many other eu player. 更
适合slap the ball instead of flick the ball

I find this similar to my 6.1, but bit more forgiving, and easier to flick
though. Similar to 6.1, it's very good for slice. I don't find much power in
neither prestige nor 6.1, both require player to apply the power, where i
find the super G10 and pure control tour, the power comes a lot easier. I
would say prestige and 6.1 are both good racquets, but it's a bit too
advanced for me at this point.

this is a bit difficult to say because of it really has more to do with the
incoming ball, and your position.... typically if you are on the defensive
end, loopy heavy topspin cc is the right thing to do, higher percentage too.
The only tip i can give is keep your arm and wrist loose, keep tracking the
ball, don't look up, at the moment of contact, try to keep every body still,
and flick it, use opponent's pace.

I think I know what you are talking about. It's all in the wrist flick, and
re-direct opponent's pace... the arm "swing" is more of extend to get the
ball, and often it's not a flat shot, it only look flat because its net
clearance is not high.
If you can really hit a flat shot with arm swinging, then I'm not sure you
are getting pulled wide enough nor if you really need to hit it on the run...

Play DTL, the follow through is cut shorter than cc.
You (anyone) need to hide your shoulder to disguise the direction. Your core
rotation is thus less yet you need more spin. It is definitely not as open
as cc in terms of stance. Unless you are very good at top spin, DTL is
always a little bit harder to do and less forgiving.
However, DH BH flick to DTL is easier, of course, that meanings borrowing
powers.

not sure if we are talking about the same situation. When you get extended
out like that, I really don't think you can hit a proper lob with a player's
racquet, the only 2 choices are a squash shot or flick wrist dtl.... a
extended out block "lob" will be end up with an easy volley put away, most
likely it won't even be an overhead... I guess that still count as a choice

(总结at bottom)

。。 not easy to balance,
just make sure it's within your limitation

timing, feel of contact,抓准自己的节奏, hit clean ball 更为重要。
wsn
forehand, contact is away from body, 上旋是flick 出来的。

how?
finish。。。
关闭for drive, 开放for heavy
(flick). lz 是eastern fh grip, 我猜想swing path 偏向于outside and in vs low
