1. There were 8 305mm guns, not 10.
2. There were several hits by the 305, but only one of the hit did enough
damage to force the Japanese ship to retire, and that's because it hit
exposed ammunition. Except for that one, all of the ships hit by the 305
were able to continue to fight.
