小弟马上就要毕业去另一个城市工作，打算去了之后购买一辆新的audi，但是一次性付
齐是不可能的，所幸有recent graduate program。但是目前还有几个疑问，想向各位
前面们请教一二。
1，对于刚毕业的学生，贷款买车的话，这个recent graduate program是不是最好的选
择？
2，虽然这个program对credit要求不高，但是小弟是去年才来的美国，信用卡记录很少
（可以保证没有任何负面记录）。 那么是不是得到的还款利率会相对高些。
3，首付。我几次问dealer，dealer给的信息都很模糊，这是他的回复：Audi’s New
College Graduate Program only requires that your monthly payment does not
exceed 15% of your monthly income. 难道就不需要首付了吗？好奇怪啊。

.上个星期拿到一个assistant clinical professor的onsite,而且请教了版上的老师们
，虽然不是很中意这个position，但是本着锻炼的心态，接下这个onsite. 今天拿到系

估计能毕业，不知道要不要赶份简历申请一下。
1。那些招 graduate programme 的是不是都是招 undergraduate 的呢？年龄比较大的
PhD也不是他们的perfect candidates 吧。写的都是Sep。2010或者是Autumu。2010开
始，要是申请了可是到时候PhD还没彻底做完怎么办呢？
2。大公司的HR都有database吧，如果现在为了赶几天之内的这些graduate programme
的 deadline交一份比较仓促准备的简历，之后比如明年这时候再认真找immediate的工
作，再准备好些的简历，那HR会不会曾经筛选过的简历有纪录，这样的就直接放弃呢？

这本是老生长谈，但很多薄厚以为自己的地位至少高于研究生，我老人家不得不再次警
告这样想的薄厚，你把你的眼镜好好擦擦，看清楚现实，才不至于作出和自己地位不相
称的事。
在很多实验室，大多数薄厚都是性价比最高的劳动力，而且没有student union的保护
。关键薄厚是临时工，尽管一临时就会临时好多年，也还是临时工。知道临时工是什么
吗？在国内就是专干脏活累活，待遇低，出事的时候”事故“肯定是临时工造成的。在
academic也好不了多少。有好多作假事件，最后都是某薄厚干的，”其他人无关“。
别以为graduate student挣钱少，就是最底层的。人家是老板的学生，跟老板不构成竞
争关系。大多数老板都对学生更好些。Technician/Research Assistant也是老板的人

graduate students. First, more experienced; second, boss pays a lot more. A
large part of graduate students are covered by the department (TA or
scholarship). At least in my university: 1 postdoc = 7 graduate student, in
terms of expense.I guess most PI would expect that 1 postdoc should be able
to carry out at least 150% of the experiments done by a grad (usually needs
to take classes, TA etc). |

个人感想：
1。其实foreign graduate并不是cheap labor,因为大部分都在retail，而retail的pay
是有standard的，是根据license的，而不是根据你有什么样的degree的。倒是如果你
拿visa,指望公司帮你办GC的时候，你去的地方一定是最烂最没有人愿意去的。
2。美国主流pharmacist一定不喜欢考试的，因为他们读了那么久，花了那么多钱，怎
么平白无故出现跟自己人工一摸一样，说着不地道英文的的foreign graduate,甚至还
比自己年轻几岁，心里不平衡是肯定的，如果站在他们的立场上，也是理解的。
3。我不怀疑foreign graduate的能力水平，首先retail就根本没有差别，如果要去
hospital,最多是花多点时间就可以catch up上。
大家要团结，还有就是要注重提高自己的知识水平上。

there are now more '小留' type graduate applications, ordinary students,
nothing in particular, able to pay their own tuition and fees.
the previous 'elite' type students, from top schools with strong grades,
some research experience and high test scores have substantially decreased
from the past.
I suspect the same quality student has much better chance of getting
assistantships now than, say, 5 years ago. |
