Henry George和Karl Marx基本算是同代人了，面对的社会现象类似，得出的结论也很
接近，比如说wage slave，inequality，比如说Henry George在上面这本书的开始就提
出自己的假说，认为工资来自于工人的劳动，而不是资本。这就从根本上否定了资本家
养活工人。马克思分析的更进一步，认为说资本家利润来自于剩余价值，而剩余价值是
劳动价值减去工资的部分，资本主义的生产其实就是剩余价值的生产。从批判角度说，
马克思的批判就更精确一些。
Henry George之所以在西方liberal里重新燃起兴趣，跟他对土地的观点有关系，也就
是说，土地（包括土地下的矿产资源）应当属于全社会享有，而不是仅仅由少数资本集
团所享有。后者只能增加少数资本集团的收益，加剧这一小撮和大多数的贫富差距。这
也恰恰是中国（以及美国以及全世界）在过去30年多年里发生的事情————全球经济
