好是用水做负重，下山的时候倒掉。给你个大致的我们的bench mark: 4 miles, 3300
ft, 2小时及格，1:30优秀。不是说你体能达不到就一定不能登，但是你如果能及格就
会有一定的saftey margin。登山不是跑road race，you can't go all out. when
things happen, rescue might not be immediately available, 即使是Rainier，
rescue也经常是days away
技术上，我们一般都很general的教alpine rock & glacier。我们用的教材是freedom
of the hills 8th edition。书的权威性我不做评价，大家见仁见智。我读过的书也不

建议是把所有的砖都去掉。mantel以上的部分上dry wall。以下的部分给我们贴tile。
外面的mantel从homedepot买来钉上。工钱是800块。
我想请问几个问题。
1. 请问用木头的mentel和整个都用tile贴哪个比较好？
2. Surrounding是用整片的granite好还是tile贴好？
3. 下面是用screen好还是用glass door比较好？

倒是个思想家，并因坚持自己的理念而死。Cromwell是个行动派，他搞的宗教改革是要
和教廷在组织上一刀两断，而不是意识形态上有什么不同。另外，Cromwell是圣公宗的
，不是路德派。Cleves家属路德派，Cromwell要Henry娶Anne是个政治决定，Anne一到
英国也就改成圣公宗了。宗教改革这个其实Cromwell和Henry是一条战壕里的，Henry权
力欲望那么大，可以和教廷决裂肯定是他所喜欢的，只要代价不要太大。当然，宗教改
革的代价还是很大的，极大地消耗了Henry金库。这个可能是Henry对Cromwell最大的不

个报告没有讲那些数字是如何算出来了。我还是认为这个数字是为了政治正确，夸张了
。再说这个是西方（污染控制的比较好的地方）的数据，不同人群中，这个比例是很不
一样的。更重要的是不能用这个数据来说明污染对肺癌的影响可以小到忽略不计，因为
不少癌症本来就可能是需要多个因素共同作用才导致的。
更简单的反驳是北京肺癌这些年发病率提高了56%，如果抽烟的比率基本没有变的话，
那那些多出来的癌症就应该是别的因素引起的。比如饮食，生活习惯，人口结构还有污
染。
具体说中国下面这片文章应该是最大规模的流行病学研究了。估计出来吸烟导致的肺癌
是38%。

及，房子又是安静的 cul de sac，就下单了。
结果remodeling 一做就是两个月，还不算搬进去后陆陆续续接着做的projects 。这期
间LG在国外出长差，一个人前前后后跑断了腿，费尽了心，酸甜苦辣这里就不提了。
家里的装饰和整理都没完成呢，为了支持活动，捡几块能见人的地方，简单讲讲、分享
一下吧：
（一） Living room & Dining room
拓平地面、请进阳光
before －
房子本身还行，保养收拾得干净整齐，说实话也算是 moving－in condition，只是比
较旧，设计是八十年代的感觉。step－down 的客厅和餐厅给人感觉把房子弄的东一块
西一块的，深一脚浅一脚的，加上采光设计不好，窗子都开得小小的很吝啬，走进来给
人很不通畅很不透亮的感觉。

构想 －
把地面抬高，开几扇新窗，拓宽patio 门，增加 high ceiling 的高窗

为了整体感，把餐厅左侧的一扇通厨房的门封起来了（从楼梯另一侧也可以方便到厨房

就是这个意思。我们的P&S中默认就包含了“... including, if any, all venetian
blinds, window shades, screens, screen doors, storm windows and doors,

没有，我做了点research，发现如果用电壁炉可以
自己做一个壁炉墙。在墙上先打一个框，下面
买electric fireplaced insert 放进去，装上
mantel和石头贴面，呵呵。我刚买了材料，找了
小工，下周开始做。到时候贴照片上来，欢迎捧场。

发帖数: 2611 | 49 屋顶的那种木框是传统风格，应该是豪宅才有的。
一般要房子比较高才能用，否则就显得泰山压顶啊。
crown molding的宽度应该是和房子的ceiling 高度
相匹配的，again 6-7寸的crown得要10尺左右的高度才行了，
否则就像你说的，显得太厚重。
虽然这房间有很多传统元素，但是那个fireplace
的石头墙，和没有mantel的设计是比较现代的，
整体看来，既传统，又不是很古板，而且比全然
传统的布置显得更简约，我挺喜欢的哈。 |

你这么一说， 俺才发现壁炉是缺少了一点东西。 象这样的， 壁炉应该有一个相应的
白色的mantel, 带有厚大的crown 的那种。。 |
