爷知道不仅仅非法移民，合法移民也Suffer着呢，他们有这些诉求。人民来信离议员草
拟的Bill的距离都有十万八千里，更别说两院表决通过的立法了。
偶个人观点是争取合法移民利益的时候要团结烙印，把蛋糕做大，争取来蛋糕以后再和
烙印斗争最大化自己的利益。合法移民本来就少，再搞内斗，更让议员们看不起，不把
你当回事。这种造声势的Petition，签名的越多越好。你签10万，最有可能的结果也就
是政府派个小工作人员发个声明解释一下。你签1万，人连个声音都懒得发了。

发帖数: 127 | 11 话说十几年前我还是没事就爱逛书店的文学青年，有一次广岛一个二手书店，看到这本
书，叫做“red azalea”，作者是anchee min，看了几页就放不下了，买回家两天看完
。她的写作风格amazing，读得每句话都像诗一样。后来陆续看了她的后来出的书，没
有第一本好，但也不错，推荐pearl of china。
今天我要推荐的是她的最新memoir，叫做“the crooked seed”，讲的是她怎么从
Chicago的一留学女吊丝一步一步走到今天（刚来美国初中毕业 - 文革的影响，一句英
语也不会说），现在她是nytimes bestseller author，作为single mom（当然后来又
结婚了）培养女儿上了stanford，很励志。
BTW，大家有认识她前夫的吗？Qigu Jiang现在是art institute的professor。

发帖数: 183 | 43 京都是日本平安时代仿西安建造的。原名平安京。在日本 历史上作了1100多年的首
都，直至十九世纪中期明治出行东京然后就迁都才让出首都的位置。
京都不大，四周是山，城区是平原。500日圆买一张bus的daily pass就可以到处去看。
几百座寺院，2000多神社。历史古迹保护得很好，各个寺院都是古木参天，郁郁葱葱。
还有很多很有韵味的胡同。可惜又是一个下雨的周末，照相难度很大，不太尽兴。雨中游京都倒也别有风味，不禁让人想起那句：‘南朝四百八十寺，多少楼台烟雨中’。
这两天除了坐车就是走路，每天步行15-20公里，参观了如下一些地方：清水寺，八扳
神社，歌舞伎街，祈园，二条城，金阁鹿苑寺，下鸭神社，京都御苑，锦市场等地。还
从书店里找到了几本合适的学日语的书，以及一本英文版的Memoirs of a Geisha，复
习一下原著。
有时间整理一些照片再贴上来。 |

今天一看已经是第二了。大家再接再厉啊。就是我这个一向不愿提及“融入”“主流”
的人，也要说，在主流媒体看亚裔连续剧不是很好吗？看ABC的line up以及promotion
都提到diversity。我们不应只是被媒体利用和其他族裔掐架的“model minority"，而
是要建立自己在这社会的形象，那么喜剧就是很好的入口。下面很多链接与大家分享。
