faculty来说可以算是很牛B了，但是对于老方这种senior的已经搞了一辈子的人来说，
就只能算so so。不要说是院士，离aps fellow的级别也还差了不少。引用率最高的一
篇文章还是95年到了arizona之后跟老外合作的，被引118次，这也是方唯一一篇被引用
上百次的文章。可见方励之89之前确实没有做出过什么重要的工作，他的名声和地位绝
对是靠政治得来的，当然其中部分的也是80年在中国搞科普所得，必须承认科普工作也是
有重要的社会意义的。
(BTW，有人说你这个搜索未必完整。不错，确实不能保证100％毫无遗漏。但是我
用的search engine is THE search engine everybody in this community uses today.

1. 油烟机的宽度都是标准的，大部分不是30就是36，我们本来默认的是30,正好
cooktop上放microwave的，考虑到microwave放countertop上占地方也不是特别美观，
于是升级到built in microwave，原来microwave的地方给装了36的普通油烟机，我后
来自己买了个36的山寨神器装上去，你是30的当然没问题，如果墙后有出烟口就更好了。
2. engineer木地板的价格非常离谱，这种属于surface upgrade，可以自己找人弄，这
价格找builder升级的人真是太懒了，外面找人弄1w出头就能搞定。不要指望builder会
给你非常高档的材料。一般工程木5块钱左右per sq ft的就不错，我家是先地毯用着，
等小娃大点再换，有些人是怕麻烦要挪家具，但这个跟搬家来比根本不算事。
3. recessed light我自己装了几个，也不难，关键是扯线，我们family room顶上本身

们就直接打通到外墙了。刚搬进来的时候，microwave就不错，效果挺好。后来过了没
俩礼拜，在没有开空调的情况下，楼上走廊里有炒菜味，卧室没有。
我当时觉得可能是microwave还是不够给力，就买了神器，找了一个contractor来装的
。他装的时候我没有在旁边看。神器装上以后，楼上炒菜味儿更重了。然后情况越来越
坏，现在又过了两个星期，连楼下也开始有味道了。不过一直奇怪的是，灶台周围是没
有味儿的，都是离灶台比较远的地方。
我找了两个不同的同事问。第一个同事刚刚自己装了神器，说可能是contractor没有封
管道接口。我的管道是长方形转园形（6寸）的，应该至少有两个接口，就是adaptor两
侧。contractor坚持说他用duct tape封了，但是不知道封了哪个还是都封了，感觉至
少有一个很难够到，我感觉contractor最多封了一个。这个同事建议我自己检测一下
cabinet和油烟机之间是不是有空气回流，我试了一下，的确有，而且很明显（方向往
房子里吹）。
