By design diesel engine is quite noisy. The engineers of MB ‘seal’ the engine into a very isolated space in order to ‘block’ the sound transmission. They also pay a lot attention to other details so as to make the engine vibration can be absorbed as much as possible. That is why ML350 Bluetec is much more quiet than X5 35d. |

pretty quiet after it's warmed up.
BTW, Diesel engines are super efficient and it will take forever for the
water temperature to reach normal operation temperature if you just let it
idle. |

old 198x Accord (hatch-back, a realy noisy cluncker) for $3500 trade-in
value at that time.
Really, no one would pay over $200 for that old car. Lucky for them to get $
3500 from USA government. |

被老中都吹神了。

, bought in 10 w/79k now have 110k, was able to sell it for $3.2k last
week
but decided to just keep it a little longer.
the good:
- roomy, incredible space front and back seat, perfect for me (1.85m)
- high seating position.
- it's not extremely noisy on highway.
- that's it.
the bad:
- unreliable, I have replaced motor mounts, both control arms, front
bearing

Who drives the car daily? The driver should have more saying on which car to
buy. It would be such a torture driving a car you don't like everyday.
GLK is not only more quiet, smoother, more stable, faster but also safer.
Hondas are pretty noisy, on long drives could be very annoying.
Also, like other people said, live your life, buy a luxury car.

car. Q5 really feels small and cheap. It is also noisy and lacks power in
acceleration. I can not understand why so many people are so addicted to Q5.
For me, even Q7 feels crowed. We turned out buying an Escalade ESV instead.
Of course, S4 is a really great car. |

pretty long generation gap for cars. And, Jetta is no luxury car either, it
has a noisy slow engine...
If you compare a V6 accord to a V6 TL at the same year, i am sure the speed
difference will be much smaller.
You can't deny that, technically, Accord and TL shares the same platform
very closely. similar body proportions, same suspension just different
tuning, TL has more sound proofing material, etc.

车铺的责任，想买一旧发动机换上再开１，２年算了，但所在城市小，找不到旧发动机
，网上的都要近15００+刀还要从其他洲运来，好象不靠谱， local junk yard 才几百
刀，可是又卖掉了，很头疼。 |

1. it is noisy, but not too bad;
2. gas mileage is really good;
3. peak torque in low rpm, very fast acceleration, does not need down gear
when going uphill;
4. TDIs have a special component in exhaust system called DPF, it is aimed
to capture particles, a rent car, it might has a bad DPF, that explains
black smoke;
5. TDI engine usually last much much longer than gasolines... |
