If you are 0.5 above your opponent, then usually you can win

What Fish Needs to Do Against Nadal
By GEOFF MACDONALD
Mardy Fish has never beaten Rafael Nadal, and will have to play the match of
his life to win on Wednesday. He has to formulate a shrewd game plan,
matching his strengths against Nadal’s one or two less than stellar
tendencies, then quickly recalibrate when Nadal makes a subtle adjustment.
For, more than any top player, Nadal taxes you mentally as well as
physically. He not only exhausts his opponents by running them coast to

I think these stages are worth thinking about because they can help you do a

Good question. However, shove on flop will make LP's decision way easier. it
's a clear fold because of the odds. Do we want to LP to fold here? no. do
we want LP to see the turn? yes but need to pay. Managing the sizing here
is tough as re-raising/shoving the EP will let LP decision making way easy(
fold with no questions). But just call is not perfect either as it will also

I would go for 1pt first, and I believe most HC will agree with me.
If you do go for 2 and make it, you don't gain much more momentum or
advantage than going for the PAT. You will still need to get the ball back
quickly (either by quick 3 out or onsite kick), and then get a TD. Both
cases, still lots of game left to play.
If you go for 2 and fail, then game is over right there. You never want to

the defeat of the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO) represents one of
the ugliest moments in the LGBT rights movement since Proposition 8 in
California. Except that this time the target was transgender people, and it
was far, far nastier.
Opponents went out of their way to misrepresent the actual contents of the
bill, which was to provide legal protections in jobs, housing, and in places
of public accommodations — inclu... 阅读全帖

The worst Go player(转载)
I live with a guy who is just the worst Go player. He's terrible! As much as
I try and teach him, he seems to keep making the same dumb mistakes. I got
so annoyed that I made a list of his faults:
He misses obvious ataris and gets his groups killed
He misses obvious threats such as double ataris and snapbacks
He continually misreads simple life and death situations
His groups get killed when they should live because he missed a vital
point
He fails to ... 阅读全帖

Go (weiqi) is much better than sex. Some reasons:
You can become a professional and be proud of it.
Spectators - are not a problem, if you wish to play Go.
You can play Go with people who have a different sexual orientation.
Serious games lasts for 10 hours or even more.
You can play all day, every day, for days on end.
You never fall ill, while playing Go.
You don't need to buy flowers or chocolate before the game.
There is never any committment after the game, just go find another playing

I got exposed to judo/jujitsu by watching first several UFC games.
Joyce Gracie won the championship several times even though the fighing is not
easy.
I do see it is an art. His opponent can gain advantages over him, can sit on
him, but gracie can lie on his back at ease and spot his opponent's weakness
and lock his opponent finally.
I am very impressed by the technique that locks the opponent's arm with two
legs while almost standing on one's head.
BTW, bessel, how many ways of passing the guar

at one time one week or two weeks earlier,I had a post about the opponents'
record: of the top 8 teams only msu's opponents barely had a winning record
other than OU.
I agree that our opponents are not impressive, but other top teams just
played worse opponents.

Tricky Serves
Here's an interesting dynamic I've noticed over the years. Players who play
the same players over and over at clubs, and only occasionally play at
tournaments or at other clubs, rarely develop tricky serves that they can
use when they do play in tournaments or against different players. Players
who play lots of different players and compete in tournaments tend to
develop tricky serves. Why is this?
It's all about... 阅读全帖
