顶着锅盖想问个general但是silly的问题，你们在review这些applicants的材料的时候，
GMAT score, experiences, SOP和recommendation letter这几项，看重的顺序是
怎么排的。
此外，outstanding, very good, good, fair在上述四项中是怎么定义的？
我先举个例子，如果是申请phd program的，experiences中outstanding的定义就是在
top conference发paper...差不多这个意思。

望我先 申请EB2B，因为这个保险，EB1B等我profile更强的时候再办理，说等一年再说
。这一年我发了不少paper，也review了不少, 我准备自费请律师办理，我的律师也说
我这个case问题应该不大。然后和学校重新提起EB1B，学校经过研究说现在不feel
comfortable sponsor我的EB1B，说等我背景再强点再说，希望我再等一个学年。我
faint。但是也没有办法。大家觉得我还有办法劝说学校吗？可以让我的律师和学校谈
谈吗？我觉得学校可能认为sponsor EB1B outstanding researcher，怕有任何的风险
，然后怕sponsor我就是承诺我是outstanding researcher。还有我觉得可能他们等我
通过interim review后可能心理感觉更comfortable些。
还有一个问题很棘手。我们学校有junior leave，就是interim review通过后，学校会

撞狗屎大运了或者你爸爸是李刚)
如果你的proposal是excellent, 有一半可能性被fund
如果你的是outstanding, 肯定被fund
所以大家一定要看这个标准,而不是highly recommand之类,因为你去查NSF的记录,估计
绝大部分都是highly recommand吧,但不一定都是outstanding. 一定要注意里面的措辞
,尤其是老美就喜欢玩文字游戏.

再说了，现在reviewer都那么挑剔，
怎么可能给比最高限再给个outstanding呢
NSF绝大多数还真不是highly recommend,
highly recommend也就是3-5个
还有大家不要灰心，
我参加的一个panel, 有一个proposal 3 very good
也拿到钱了。
这个panel very competitive,
其他推荐的proposal,
虽然有excellent，但是在最后panel dicussion的时候，
大家还是认为3 very good 的最好。
尽管有些review 不愿意改 score. |

的也是最宠爱的学生，那些outstanding的和GPA很高的学生，都没有得到我导师的这么
多细致的传授秘诀。
我觉得这有点像武侠小说里写的那样，杨康有才，背景也好，天赋过人，但洪七公宁可
被打死也不愿意收他为徒，是吧。。。就说杨康的简历比郭靖的简历要好的多，但最牛
的师傅不肯买他的账，GPA再高，这时候其实说不定还是个负面因素---你们看洪七公的
视角，在洪七公眼里，郭靖傻的可爱--对他没有任何威胁，但杨康放他身边，他压根都
睡不好觉。。
所以，你们看武侠小说，不要只看一个热闹，要从里面学到江湖的门道，看了半天，都
不知道GPA在這里到底算好事，还是坏事，
老是GPA，GPA的， 杨康和欧阳克那样的学生，GPA都是奇高无比的，你看东邪，南丐，

RFE 3/5寄出，3/10收到，要J表，律师准备好 3/15 给学校，学校不签字，说合同不续
签了。这个结果我能想到，也能理解，不过看到Dean's office的回信，一时间觉得真
是山穷水尽......
这中间有个插曲。系主任3月初说人家不让你上课了；过了一礼拜又说有课了你上不上
。为了争取时间我说上，目前的安排是2门到8月初。不知道会不会有幺蛾子出来。不过
，现在的问题是RFE 最晚回复时间为5月底6月初（87天），如果找不到工作，RFE 没法
回，夏天的课也就没什么意义了。
学校申请有将近20个了，不过1/3的是visiting position，无助于J表；剩下的基本都
合适，课程基本都上过（初级/中级微观，初级/中级宏观，introductory

真的。 本人在墙街做IT已经六年多了， 拿的也是很普通的薪水， 我现在的Total是135K + 10-25% Bonus （奖金时好时坏， 大致在10% 到 25% 之间）

只是每周大概跟顾客开会见面2－3次。 时间很自由， 白天接送小孩， 准备晚餐，
缺点， 公司R&D在中国， 虽然头在这里， 没什么决定权， 本地老外微观管理， 合作
不怎么愉快， 但也能应付过来。 工资不调整， 工资刚刚过六位数， 年终奖金大概也
就10k 左右。无401k。vacation 只有10 天， 无sick days. 现学习曲线已经不快了，
但刚刚到了比较上手的阶段。在这里估计稳定3年问题不大， 但估计那时侯技术都会
变的生疏起来。。家里到上班单程时间1－1.5hrs. in traffic 2hrs on the way back

information.
In their last round of funding, how much money they raised, and what
percentage of company did the investors get. For example, they raise 30
million in series B, and the investors get 10% of the company, the company's
valuation is at 300 million.
