1）shameless
发动七大姑八大姨，争取认识你想投递简历的公司的内部人。管他是谁，能帮你递交简
历就好。前天听别人讲的，她自己讲日语，所以希望去日本在美国的公司工作，她连她
老公牌桌上的人都发动了。不管是谁的哪怕八杆子都打不着的亲戚，也得给动员起来。
2）Be Creative
足够聪明和足够有想法，可以直接堵公司的CEO。Bloomberg公司的一个人，就是看到他
们的产品然后就直接给bloomberg本人打了电话，然后就到他公司工作了。当然，这是
十多年前的事情了。
3）networking和follow-up
多参加networking event。昨天我去一个networking event，结果一位女士就说她们单
位在招summer intern，让有兴趣递交简历的人赶紧跟她联系。Follow up很重要，否则
认识也白认识人。其实，我之前也有去过一些network |

和奥本交流，在座的WSN有几个敢拿起电话，不说发音和口语不行，就算听，
有几个能把奥本带有政策和法律术语的快速官腔听个清楚？并且迅速在他
的话里找出漏洞，做出反应，和他平心静气的交流？我猜老赫应该是做
marketing的,或者至少是个FAE之类的角色，和客户开会，concerence call，
作presentation等等基本上是家常便饭，对meeting中的Q&A section尤其擅长。
其次，各位硬工软工硅工油工养老婆的看孩子的，有几个象老赫一样花大量
的时间和精力，了解相关政策法规，计算各种名额数据，真心投入到解放
EB2C的伟大事业中去，就算有人真去做，又有几个象老赫这样有perseverance.
遇到困难不是先骂娘,而是认真分析形势,给出对策.每当排期停滞不前版上一片
哀嚎的时候,看到老赫的帖子，就好像"地道战"里的老农看到了毛主席的
"论持久战"一样，又从新燃起了希望。
还有就是老赫的情商,绝对一流。跟奥本交流不卑不亢不emotional，哓之以理
动之以情，威逼利诱，无所不用。我估计在奥本的心里，老赫应该是那种令人
尊重的对手。 |

perseverance.没有绝对的公平。
而且就算不AA了,藤校50%+都是亚裔又怎么样？我们就赢了，社会就没有偏见和歧视了？
要想消除stereotype，不是大家为进削尖脑袋进藤校，而是有更多的人选择不同的方向
，像Lin一样打球的，当老师的，做警察的，当演员的，说相声的...
就算这样，要消除偏见也需要很长一段时间。
老黑反歧视有些年头了吧，又怎么样？就算打NBA全是老黑又怎么样？反而加深了偏见
，相反，要是老黑多些做科研的，编程的，教书的，是不是又不一样？
白人别的没有什么，基本上各个领域，科学体育艺术政治都有明星人物，你能歧视他们

如果你想改变社会，让孩子从政估计是成功的必经之路。也许你的孩子加以培养，可以
成为更年轻的国会议员或市长。
虽然 Elise 爬了大藤，而且成绩很出色(Women’s Leadership Award Winner，
graduated with honor)，但她也是移民第二代，在高中就是共和党的铁杆支持者并参
加高中的共和党基层组织。在哈佛大概学的是政治（没查出来），不容易。不可否认她
的哈佛经历，对她从政有很大帮助。比如她和面书创始人扎克是同学，还是第一批使用
面书的成员之一（当年所有的哈佛在校生）。但靠一己之力，以一个移民后代的身份进
军国会山，就是一个美国梦。
哈佛出了现总统，也可能再出一个美国的女总统（第一个不一定是希拉里，如果 ELISE
步奥巴马后尘，直接上最高舞台的话）。
她的父母是商人，没上过大学。估计当时录取进哈佛，这些都是优点。哈佛看对了人，

个华盛顿邮报专栏作家。多年没想到此公，刚才搜了一下，发现他已于 2007 年过世（
于是又想到了昨天猴脸的帖子，提到几位已故世的歌星。）包可华的特色是笔调幽默，
对于事物的观察非常敏锐与 opinionated（废话，要不然怎么当专栏作家？），常以讽
刺辛辣但却又幽默的笔触批评时政。让我印象深刻的几篇专栏文章包括讽刺法国人爱喝
酒、批评美国电影太黑太黄、讽刺福特总统满地找竞选搭档、讽刺拥枪派所引起的 “
武器竞争”、。。。。。等等。曾经有本书是他的专栏文章合集，可惜现在网上找不到
了。
（想到这两天版上拥枪禁枪的帖子，结果到最后一定是大吵一架。Buchwald 他反枪，
但他懂得用幽默的文笔来反枪，让不管是拥枪反枪的读者，看完后都是哈哈一笑。这就
是高手。）
他在过世前为自己的过世写了一篇专栏，贴出来分享一下，看看一代文人是如何以幽默
平静的心情面对自己的最后一页。

于去与自己水平相当的大学，选择去比自己水平高很多的藤校是很不明智的。所以AA造
成对黑青年“毁人>诲人”。
如斯成立，则亚裔家长推自个的娃也须小心。如家长推了10年娃也没学会自推，那靠补
习班、凑活动经验上了藤校也是去给牛娃当分母做尾巴去了，也许不如去一州校帮助大

It is nice to believe in overnight Cinderella story. In real life, it hardly
happens except in fairy tales for the sweet & innocent........a housemaid
turns into a Princess. It is nice that we can all feel young again once a
