physical chemistry. For example, Lieber is a physical chemistry professor. Or
you can say it belongs to material chemistry.
However, traditionally, physical chemistry should be related to the fundmental
research toward atom, molecules. To strictly classify physical, organic,
inorganic chemistry doesn't have much meanings.

material.
Actually, many company mentioned that they have job for physics student, but
your work must have relationship with their product.

我的本本是今年二月买的，买到的时候就有很多小问题，不过我懒，无视了。
最近屏幕上出现米粒大的小灰点，送到lenovo（说起来，这个小灰点有点奇怪，如果背景有颜色，其实是可以透过这个小灰点看到背景的颜色的，感觉，就好像屏幕上沾了灰似的，当然我很确定地擦过了，不是真的沾了灰。如果是真的dead pixel的话，应该只是一个死气沉沉的小灰点，不可能还能透过点点看得到别的颜色吧？）。
几天后， lenovo打电话来,说那个dead pixel是caused by physical damage，修的话要近一千块。
我说我没有physical damage啊？她轻描淡写地来一句“well, that's hard to prove。”我就噎住了，lol。然后我和她说，要她问一下具体的花费（还有别的一些刚买来就存在的小问题，我也想确认一下花费）。她说她改天打给我（那时是上周五）。
后来我在网上搜了一下，发现我的电脑这个型号的屏幕很多都有这个dead pixel的问题。

发帖数: 21830 | 27 2012的所谓deadline并不是你理解的那样, 2012的deadline是说，2012年后所有的
program都要accredidation, 所以exam也同样需要从这些certify的program出来的才能
有资格考。这个意思并不是说，你physics major的进不了这行，只有medical physics
degree的才能进，这个意思是说，你要进这行，要么有certify的medical physics
degree,要么是在certify的postdoc/resident program里面工作3年。对physics phd的
主要影响是要多修啥啥课。加了点work load.
其实以前的postdoc program,大多也是2-3年.
所以，这个所谓的deadline对那些搞物理想转行的并没有多少实质的影响，实质的影响
来自现在前脚已经进去，后脚还没进的那些人。
2012年accredidation deadline影响最大的是大学和医院，尤其是名牌大学和医院。现
在很多一流的大学/医院都没有accredidation,比如havard,比如upenn,因为 |

很原始的估计，这些计算完全可以用Geant做到很精确。再比如，CT机里的photon
detector还是PMT，所以CT都是无比巨大，现代物理detector大多用闪烁fiber+半导体
的HPT array。整个medical physics的研究都落后于physics.
以后要是有人建个全国性的radiation therapy data center, 你提供MRI/CT图送data
center,这里直接用grid计算dose，on-the-fly修正,可以让这些medical physicist全
部失业。
知是垃圾还得做，要不然会被那些多发了几片PAPERS的人看不起

张远波还是很不错的。当年Chicago给了offer，只是由于funding的问题，最后没成。
University of Virginia给了offer，被他拒了。
复旦给了他正教授（不是特别研究员），funding没有问题。其实复旦物理系是我觉得
中国大陆物理系中运作最象美国的一个。
这次的奖给的是早了一些，至少应该看到一些实际应用或在其他领域一些相关的
breakthrough之后再发。不过这次也让大家觉得物理还是一门挺有活力的学科的。 |

下师兄师姐的建议。我是高能物理方向，对以后没什么很明晰的打算，应该很大的可能
继续做物
理。但听说要做物理faculty很难，高能要做几期Post，还是有所忌惮的。
首先，我很想了解下这两所学校粒子物理方面的实力，不知师兄师姐听别人讲过没。从
网站上
看，似乎Purdue有几个70多岁的大牛，但似乎有些青黄不接的感觉，听师兄说有做CMS
做的不错
的。关于Toronto 的高能实力我不太了解，也是我很想知道的，但我感觉不能期待加拿
大那种国
家在高能物理方面有多好。如果师兄对Toronto在高能方面有所耳闻的话，还请师兄帮
助。我也想
知道U Toronto其他物理方面的实力，比如在什么方向比较强。
其次，从学校名气上看，似乎Toronto更出名些，而且地理位置好，如果以后不做物理

The banker told me that I could open one account but bring my card. I opened
the account but could not find the physical card now.
I have the email code but it does not work. The banker said you must use the
physical card code.
Can anyone give me one extra code from the physical card received from Chase?

孩子以后，跟family doctor make appointment，要求做身体检查（annual physical
）。见到医生以后，医生检查了耳鼻喉心肺啥的，跟我说都挺正常，问我还有没有什么
别的questions/concern，我想了想，只有生了孩子以后后背/腰有时候有些疼(lower
back pain)，医生说，要多锻炼，做yoga/pilate会有帮助。
3个月之后收到账单$150，本来annual physical应该保险是100% cover的，结果发现诊
所是按照regular office visit收费的，理由是我和医生谈了我的back pain。我想请
问大家，这个是正常的吗？如果真是这样，以后annual physical要特别注意了。 |

(七/八月）。今年联合报税，想把LP在国内收入减免掉。看了看Form 2555，需要满足
一个Physical Presence Test，基本意思是要12个月里有大于330天在美国以外。但ISR
网站上没有详细说如何确定这12个月。
