rd8这个新的突变于12年报导出来，对搞视觉研究的震撼很大，所有实验室回去筛选有
没有这个mutation，因为这个mutation和其他的rd突变不太一样的一点是除了直接的导
致视网膜退变，还有一些其他的表型，这个突变在c57bl/6n的老鼠里，c57bl/6j的没有
事儿。以至于之前有用这个6n做的模型发在很好的期刊上的文章，作者立马回去检查，
重复，确保表型和这个突变无关。
而这段时间的地震是RGC-5这个细胞系，大家也许都听过这个细胞，这个最开始是rat
ganglion cell line，但是呢，最近发现，这个细胞系其实没有在originator's实验室
外存在过，现在流传的RGC-5实际上已经mouse origin的cone photoreceptor cell
line。。。。这个很震惊，因为从最开始到现在已经过去了10多年的时间，用这个细胞
株发表的文章也超过了200多篇，也就是说，究竟有多少结论是站得住脚的，我们无法
得知了。
所以几个vision的journal都相继出社论来警告尤其用细胞系来做实验的，建议要用in

术》。然而，它的创始人又是谁呢？近日，美国健康医疗专业媒体《STAT》采访了这位

function of the injured eye. I believe there are no better ways to dealing
with this situation even in USA. The problem for left eye is retinal
pigmented degeneration. The prognosis is not optimal ( if the diagnosis is

history of Dm and 2y history of diabetic nephropathy. She had laser
treatments 1 y ago for proliferative retinitis with some loss of vision. She
currently takes intermediate and short-acting insulin before breakfast and
dinner. She also takes enalapril for HTN. She does home glucose monitoring
three times daily. her blood glucose concentrations usally range bw 70-130

clinic (I am specialized in other disorders). Chronic dry AMD is not
treatable (though good diet and sun protection is wise). Acute wet AMD is
VERY treatable, and urgent to do so as soon as possible. I am sure the
injections into the eye of antiVEGF drugs like Avastin or Lucentis are done
in China, which has Western medicine doctors. This can stabilize or improve

usual recomended watch period is 2 to 6 weeks post trauma. Based on your
case: a pediatric patient, vision is severely reduced, even show early sign
of retinal detachment; I would say surgery earlier rather than later to
prevent further detachment. It would be vitrectomy--followed by gas bubble
replacement.
And again, we can't stress enough about proper eye protection during sports.

detachment actually happens at the peripheral retina,we want to treat it
ASAP due to the potential thread to involve macula. At periphery, we don't
need to worry about central vision,so LASER can be used to re-seal the break
. And for large detachment,further vitrectomy and gas treatment might be

DDx. If it is Toxo, the more you kill the parasite, the worse the
inflammation systemically. You might really need to biopsy that "左脑囊肿"
to get a firm diagnosis and decide if steroid is nessesary.
I am also curious if there is any vision change. The eye is another common
site that Toxo tend to affect. If ophthalmologist can see intro-ocular live

On-off pathway还没有完全搞透呢，three-color vision还没有完全搞透呢，这些个问
题就和为什么有dream一样，太复杂了。
如果你比较专注于retinal degeneration的话，能搞的东西还有挺多。
在我看来，retina是个模式器官，可以搞很多basic research。 |

发帖数: 7030 | 49 这个挺有趣哈 我这么想 植物先进化出了各种各样的色素来吸收太阳光谱里面的很小一
段 之后才会有动物据此进化出识别这些颜色的视觉（比如看见绿色和泥土色石头色的
区别 因为要吃东西 blabla） 其他的动物色觉是不是也可以类推成co-evolution的作
用 比如说你看夜行动物像猫头鹰因为看不到食物的颜色压根就没有颜色觉
至于植物为什么只选择了那么窄的一段光谱来形成色素 比如说叶绿素 基本所有的光合
作用生物都有 而且基本都是吸收红/蓝光从而呈现绿色 这个不知道有没有人知道。。
也许压根就是随机选择了Mg做色素核心的结果？当然也有可能有进化原因

limitations I can think of now are:
1. Engineering problem. Images generated is displayed in pixels so at this
point the resolution is far from good although patients can visualize a few
simpe objects.
2. Remaining retinal neural activity interferes with outcome.
