As I remember, the exist highest A-stable(?) RK scheme is
6th order.
If you have some special requirement, e.g. the speed,
the robustness, it is even harder to get
a good one. I once used the 4th order A-stable RK scheme
with only 3 stages. It worked very well sometimes. But for some
problems, the round-off error just killed the solution.

info of downstream of the flow to decide the upstream flow. High order
schemes are usually 'upwind biased'. There are also some high order
central schemes.
If the numerical scheme is not upwind, it will be unstable even for linear
equations. Some people call it linear instability. |

没念好。我知道的例子里面， 有MIT代数几何大牛 MICHAEL ARTING 以前一个中国学生， 奥赛金牌， 因为念这本书一年多没多少进展， 过不了QUALIFY。 因此和ARTING 关系日渐恶化， 最后离开了MIT。
这本书难念， 原因之一是需要一定准备知识。要念懂GTM52，至少需要一个交换代数一
学期的本科高年级内容， 另外对同调代数有点最基本的训练， 对它的的思维方式起码
不至于陌生。这些准备内容， 在大陆一般院校的本科教学里面并没有COVER。
这本书难念更重要的原因是第2，3章介绍的HUGE MACHINNERY of high tech。GTM52 第一章处理VARIETY， 优点是简明扼要，缺点是材料太少，不足以给学生足够的几何直觉， 支撑第2，3章的学习。GTM 52 的精华是第2，3章， 介绍SCHEME 和 它上面的COHOMOLOGY THEORY。SCHEME的概念已经高度抽象， 初学者会觉得学习很多概念时HIGHLY UNMOTIVIATED。SCHEME 上的CO |

Peter Lax的文章相对于代数几何的文章很容易读，但是能读跟你跟做出那样的文章来
完全是两回
事，很多背后深刻的思想写出来并不见得需要繁琐的技术细节。
BTW，Peter Lax的很多贡献也可以算在纯数学里面，譬如他的Lax Pair，还有和
Phillips的
scattering theory，和代数几何就有深刻的联系，对于理论PDE的贡献那就更不用说了。

For example, Takahashi and Fujii proposed many series expansion solutions to

最明显的证据就是他用的是Scheme，一个相对少见的语言。我在网上搜了一下，这个问
题的例子几乎都是Scheme写的。
如果他真的master了，显然应该用主流语言，比如Javascript写。JS写实用性应用性很
强，但是逼格可能就下来了。 |

Union Pacific, USD 7.76B operating income on USD 21.03B revenue TTM.
It is simply a huge fiscal transfer scheme from tax-payers who do not travel
via trains to those who travels a lot on trains.
Since I benefit from the scheme, I cannot not say I have much to complain.
