-------结束了一个，组里四分之三的烙印，面试官分别来自三个组，CAE, IP, R&D。说是几个组都面一面看看那个组的工作适合我。 烙印好实在，一上来自我介绍完就发配我去白板上做题了。只有个美国人比较心好，说自己找工作就最讨厌技术问题，他也不问技术问题，基本上是我一直在吹牛，他最后问你中午去哪吃饭，爱吃辣不，我说喜欢吃辣的，他说他也喜欢，说越来越喜欢我了。。。。汗。。。
请教下 Application Engineer怎样？对于new grad来说是不是一个好的start职位？因为我身边很少有朋友去这个行业，大部分都去R&D了

基本功能：有些半成品。比如sphinx，你可以用来训练自己的语音模型。另外，还需要
语言模型language model，可以考虑现成的比如Srilm。
高级功能：这个关键处在于如何把一个自然语言的句子变成machine readable的句子，
比如first order logic。一些思路：可以考虑parser，就是先把一个句子变成句法树
，然后根据phrase structure information来map到first order logic，执行程序命令
。parser可以考虑Berkeley parser, Stanford parser, OpenNLP parser等；或者考虑
dependency parser，或许比phrase structure parser更有用，比如Stanford parser
，malt parser等，甚至可以用semantic parser，这个需要自己实现。
总之就是，每一步都有现成的工具包，就看你怎么攒到一块，效果还好。这里面很多地
方需要自己去training，tuning。

统熟。高级一点的是少下游工具系统都要熟。最好的就是几个交叉领域，NLP, ML, IR,
Database, 甚至Semantic Web，各种工具如何组合。
领域应用，各种技巧，不见得能发文章，就是管用
真正要求工程师做基础算法研究的，是很少很少的。
想避免中年被裁的危机，唯一的办法就是自己当老板。NLP这些发展太快了，年纪大的
想跟上时代太难了。前一段时间面试了几个candidate，都在别的公司做过chief
scientists, principal scientist的，可是技术组合都是10年前的，新工具，新算法
都不知道。40-50岁，干扰最多，想技术上还保持领先，那需要超人的毅力和努力 |

pattern interviews are complete different from using C++ to do leetcode.
C++11 is still in the early stage and being experimentally supported by GCC.
No large scale project as far as i know is picking up C++11 anytime soon.

except a few such as GC support. Tech companies like FB or Google already
start to use a bunch of C++11 features and will approve more features into
their code base.
