I am a 3rd year PhD and just got an internship starting from May 3 till
August 20, using CPT in my school.
However, the spring semester ends at May 10 and the fall semester starts
at August 15, where I have RA appointments for both semesters.
Will the double-pay in these two overlapping weeks matter a lot? It`s a
new mechanism and the admin in my department is unsure about this case
either.
I already got the new I20 and CPT ready before hearing this chang |

个F2转F1的时间问题。保守估计我从International Program Office拿到申请F1的
whole package 最少也要到六月中旬（可能更久）。而据我所知F2--> F1的申请过程一
般需要3-4个月（如果有更快的，希望回帖告之）。而我的学校8月中旬就要开学了，我
不知道即使我以最快的速度递交申请材料是否还来得及。我跟我老婆和朋友想出来了几
个方案:
1. 转fall semester的MS成为spring semester。因为我这次的申请材料递交的晚，所
以AD下来的晚，耽误了F2-->F1的材料递交。
pro: 如果我退出这次MS申请，转而申请下一个spring semester的MS，可以确保下个
学期的AD准时下发，下个学期前可以及时递交转身份的申请材料。
cons: 但是也就意味着我这个学期就不能入学了。
2. 冒个险递交申请材料。大约有最多2个月的时间等待批准。然后在社区大学注册9个
学分的课keep 住身份
pro: 如果F1申请成功，不会耽误入学。如果 |

out of status. There are two viable solutions for you:
1. Apply for F-2 visa to come back and apply for COS from F-2 to F-1 again.
2. Ask the university to postpone your enrollment to the next semester,
apply for F-1 visa to enter within 30 days before the next semester begins.
You need a new I-20 in both cases.

1、关于EIPRS（Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarship), 这
个是学校给的，是否第一年申请，第二年入学（Semester one or semester two)才有
效？也就是说必须头一年申请才行，如果我2007年申请Semester 2入学，这个奖学金已
经申不到了？
2、一般国际学生在悉大能申请到哪些奖学金呢？我想读经济系的，系里会有提供吗？
3、我这里所谓讲学金是指： tuition + living allowances (+ insurance)。

undergrad is regarded highly because of the thesis requirement. The best
path is go to P for undergrad and then go to H, Y or S for graduate/
professional school.
Because H,Y and S have med, Law and Business school, their student to
faculty ratio is not truly reflecting undergrad student to faculty ratio. (

来美国之后认识了很多中国人,其中他们分为三种群体,
1. 国男+国女

其中前两个群体基本人数相当, 第三个群体总人数约等于前两个群体之和.
前两个群体效率很高, 一般来说, 下了飞机就和中国人抱团, 然后开几个鸿门宴式的party,最后在大约75:25的男女比例下, 25对同胞开始了一段速配式的感情, 多出来的50个男人转为第三个群体中,这就是中国圈子里的自然选择过程.
那25对同胞们, 头一个月之内互相装模作样, 男追女, 第二个月就开始再也忍不住了, 进入同居状态,反正父母不在身边嘛.基本也就是1年之后 Facebook上的relationship status 就变成engaged to.

没有精力让她难过了.
过了新年, 寒假也很快过去了,刘芸觉得有点恍惚,自己居然还在亚特兰大,没有回中国
去.她知道,自己实在是心不甘,就这样一无所有的回中国.况且, 她觉得自己完全有信心

SPRING SEMESTER, 刘芸选了JAVA,常常是早上六点钟就起来,虽然她也睡得很晚.过了半
期考试, 她知道,这个最大的难关已经跨过去了,她最担心的PROGRAMMING课,她的老师也

The gym at DUT is new and pretty good. The price is very reasonable if you
consider the new gym and the living standards of student. If you are really
pooor, then do not use the gym.
btw, do u think it's a good idea that DUT charges each student 500 yuan each
semester and students can use it for "free"??

过的？在哪里怎么补？最好是能网上补的。
在网上搜了一大圈，也不确定哪里能补到这些学分。
而且坑爹的是EHIC学分都是一些高大空的课，很多community college都没有，他们一
般都是开比较实用的课
有些community college打去问了，他们自己也不确定学分加州CPA BOARD能不能承认

发帖数: 91 | 40 我是本科（大家眼中的top2）过来的，现在在big 10 land grant university里面的一
所经济系读博士。这个学校工科很强（估计已经猜到了），但社科一般。我们系主要是微观
理论不错，其他的都慢慢不行了，特别是宏观已经没人了。而且没有quals，核心课程要上3个学
期，所以毕业的时间相当长。而且靠分数来screen，所以老师给分都蛮紧的，学习就跟本科一样，
fully care grades。无论是就业还是兴趣出发，我觉得商学院都更适合我。当年也是申请了几所
商学院的管理方向，无一例外地都把我拒了。当然，admission committee还是火眼金睛的。在
Phd一年之后，发现一年之前实在是太幼稚了，我觉得当年审我材料的人应该会窃笑。
个人原因加上兴趣，我一直有转学的打算。但与Finance的人上了不少课之后，我实在
是不明白Bschool是怎么录人的。因为合上了三四门课，确实没发现金融系的博士学术上很强，
从数理还是直觉上来说。实在是不明白商学院是怎么选人的。当然他们阅历确实比较丰富，不少有两
个master(MA+M. Eng)，也许是diversity?

I am in Science major and plan to apply for M.S in Finance one or two years
later. What math background I have are:
Caculus(3 semesters), linear algebra, probality (1 semester), special
functions, applied linear regression (single-variable), time series analysis,
real analysis(auditoring now). With a average of 80. //blush...
I plan to take applied Stochastic process next semester.
Can any friend list other MATH and STAT courses I should pick up now to apply
for Finance?

This is the second semester of teaching Chinese. In the past semester, I
already taught some basic Chinese conversations and how to write numbers in
Chinese. This semester, I am going to start with teaching Chinese alphabet,
and I do need helps from all the friends here who have a lot of experiences
of teaching Chinese. Please post your suggestions while you have time, and I

regestered only 2,and 3 for next semester. Last semester I audited part of
communication systems. Can you tell me more about how you finished your EE
master? you were in EE program? or you were in both physics and EE program?
how many courses did you take each semester? and did you do research in EE
at the same time you took EE courses? how could you start your research when
you know little about EE? Thanks a lot!

(GPA 3.8) last semester. Here we LLMs are graded the same as JDs, the only
exception is extra time for foreign students.
Some hints for how to figure out the different styles of your professors:
1) past exam questions. Normally will put on reserve in the lib. Copy it and
Read it earlier in the semester along with the textbook material instead of
waiting till the end of semester.
