发帖数: 99 | 1 I am wondering if it is ok to dancing Internation Latin technique in
American Rythm competitions. I am working on American Rythm right now, but
a lot of the techniques my
instructor is teaching comes from international style (like from Slavik and
Karyna's DVD). And he said don't worry about that, there are a lot of
people using Latin technique in American Rythm, and in fact it is a trend to
do so. But I have other friends telling me that it would put me at a
disadvantage at competitions.

the rumors are the results of the shuffle, which is in the early stage of
development. i don't think slavik will partner with katarina.

katarina is way too tall for slavik.
i don't think they are a good match either.
don't know much about andrei and katarina, but they have had a very stable
partnership, and she's about 35 years old. it just looks like flat
retirement. |

i just don't think slavik and elena are a good match. she is too big for him
. she physically shadows him, which affects the look of their dancing. he
should dance with karyna or somebody of kayrna's size, i.e. my size, hahaha |

gonna be back to the pro world...after all, she might gain more popularity,
celebrity, money, men(?) by pursing a career in the entertainment industry;
the only thing she's gonna miss is the world latin pro champion title, which
i don't know if still means much to her... |

Yeah, posture is crucial. when I watch slavik and karina's Innovation series
the first time last year, i totally skipped the posture section - thinking
that is minor. later i watch the taping of my own practice or lesson, i don'
t look like i am dancing, for some reason; i look like doing steps very
casually - and that 'some reason' is the lack of posture, which i didn't pay
attention to.

the responses are positive in the commentary section. and it looks i was too
naive to believe hanna's words that she is not ready to do partner dance (
although her heart is still dancing bluh) and to believe that andrej has no

quality, because the releasing time is most recent (in 2005 or 2006? anyway
just before they split). Earlier series like 'see it hear it' or 'innovation
' have more advanced stuff, but you can see slavik's movements are less
refined in these than in the DBWP series. |
