Without gas stabilizer, gasoline is only fresh for 2 months, which may cause
starting issue when you come back. The stabilizer is available at Walmart,
Target and auto stores.
Someones also suggest to release parking brake to prevent potential issue
that brake pads stick to the rotors. You might want to consider to place
chocks under the tires to prevent movement. |

本来想买MDX，但是老婆在一个小公司工作，同事领导除了一个老中小弟弟开C300，剩
下都是很一般的车，老婆就觉得开MDX有点不太好，劝了也听不进，反正是她开，就随

不选MDX，剩下的我们这对WSN/V就只有PILOT/HIGHLANDER选了。两个车都试开了，
HIGHLANDER比PILOT小，低。但是LOCAL的TOYOTA DEALER很拽，价格给的比PILOT高，我
们就没有选择了。
买来开了几个月了，上个月刚从CHICAGO开到FLORIDA度了10天假，感觉还可以。
总结一下PILOT的吧：
1。都是标配，价格没有水分，讲价很简单，基本算同级别里最便宜的了。LX 4驱,连税
不要3万（现在应该更低了），这个对家里条件一般，有两三个孩子，把车主要当成一
个运输工具的父母应该还是有吸引力的。特别是后视CAMERA在低配置车型里也是标配，

安全。但雨雪天traction比stability更加重要，尤其是在高速上大家速度都相对比较
快的情况, DTC提供更好的traction和动力在适当的情况下当然更安全了. 不过这个是
我个人观点，哪个更安全分不同的情况，仁者见仁，智者见智。
除非你在右道龟速爬行，那DSC和DTC没什么区别。

三刀的做法，还是那句话，抹奶油真是个技术活！蛋糕是巧克力戚风，戚风的方子之前
写过，就是在基础戚风的方子上再加3勺可可粉，成品味道有点点苦，感觉下次做可以
减少到2勺。奶油打发的时候加了whip it就是啥whipping cream stabilizer，效果还
不错。巧克力碎我是用磨芝士的那种刨子磨的，但是还是很费劲的。夹心是樱桃的，已
经过了季节了，只好买那种用来做PIE的樱桃馅。如果有人要方子我就再具体写一下。
装饰蛋糕材料：9寸巧克力蛋糕一个，新鲜奶油whipping cream 750ml，whipped cream stabilizer 4 小包，cherry（pie filling）一罐，糖粉6大勺，杏仁片2大勺，baker’s chocolate（semi sweet）2块
装饰准备工作：
1. 新鲜奶油加入whipped cream stabilizer后用hand mixer先高速打5分钟，边打边加糖粉，然后再转中速打3分钟，最后用低速打1分钟固定奶油；

的？我觉得主要是竖起来后，梯子的重心太高，在挪动过程中，稍微倾斜度大一些，就
头重脚轻翻下来，如果stabilizer是安装在上面，架起来可能稳定一点，但是更加头重
脚轻，会不会挪动更加困难？
在国内我用过那种竹子做的长梯，一般是下面大，上面小的，容易用许多，但是美国买
的extension ladder上下一样大的，重心高许多。我的那个是300磅rating的，感觉也
许降低一些重量和rating，能够容易用一些？

the pH was not balanced, or you have no stabilizer at all, or perhaps your
filter was empty. Ducks have no way to undo your chemical balance if you
pool was maintained properly.
have you ever tested your water before you decided to stop the pump? I bet
the stabilizer was close to 0. Even you pour gallons and gallons of shock in
your pool, they will disappear at once as long as the strong sun light hit

had been high even though I put quite amount of acids, and the alkaline
concentration was very high and free chlorine was almost zero. I did put
stabilizer tables in the pool but they seemed non dissolving.

if you are sure your alkalinity reading is accurate, then you need to bring
pH back to the normal range (7.2-7.6). otherwise, other chemicals won't
function as effectively as they should be.
second, most stabilizers are in the form of powders and you apply it by dump
in the skimmer. if you have a tablet, likely it is not stabilizer, those
are chlorine tablets, and you should use them with a chlorine feeder:

kayak vs canoe has been long time a nice debate. 仁者见仁，智者见智，我选择
了canoe for fishing, 其实不管kayak 还是canoe, 最大的问题是stability 和 safety, 风浪一大，
很难操作，所以我做了一个辅助装置 stabilizer（可以买到，比较贵$500－600)，效
果很好，三四个人在坐在上面，非常稳，完全不必担心翻的问题。 经过一个夏天的实
际测试，还是很满意的， 最大的优点是可以站在canoe里，伸伸 腰，活动活动，而且
比较适合 fly fishing, 而这些 kayak 做不到，几个小时一直坐在里面实在不轻松，
还可以在 canoe 上加动力，5HP 以下发动机或者用电池的 trolling motor，但 kayak
加动力不方便，除非有一个专用的 mount。我自己作了一个mount, 发动机是 Diehard

years, I spent about 1/3 of the time with some degree of shin splints, and I
rarely raised my weekly mileage to above 45. Old IDs here like foolsgold and mark may remember how I complained about my shin splints from time to time. And guess why I initally switched to
stability shoes? Because I went to a specialized shoe store, and I was
recommended stability shoes. |

I am a new foot at running.
First experienced knee ache after 3 weeks of running, went to special
running shoe store,was told my right foot rolls inward excessively, got
stability shoes and the issue went away.
Then I read here that stability shoes are bad, so I adjusted my running form
, starts to wear neutral shoes, everything was fine for 7 weeks, till last
Saturday, after 7 miles, my arch feels sore, decided to run through it, run

跑版这几年
跑版开办的时候，俺还在coach potato中，几个月以后才开始爬山。
为了爬山，我开始跑步，目的是减肥和爬山。偶尔上跑版，那时候，
貌似版上的能有人知道啥是pronation type，已经是理论高手了。
我记得当时版上很时髦的，就是教导新手脚上沾水，看地上的痕迹。
我08年年底左右开始正式准备跑马拉松的时候，还胡乱买的鞋子，其实
歪打正着，买了 Asics Cumulus, 是我应该穿的。后来在班上砖家们
的启发下，去了一家跑鞋店，在跑步机上，女店员告诉我，我是轻微
over pronated, 应该穿stability 鞋子。
然后我就陆续买了一堆stability, 包括stability的皇后Kayano.
当时没有跑个头，但是我估计大多数班上经常出没的“牛人”，每周跑
50迈就是差不多最牛的了。这个要感谢后来不太出没的州长同学，我们
大部分都进入跑个头记录，互相可以偷窥，当然除了变变等特别害羞的外。
一晃几年过去了，我的首马3:27已经有变成我终身PR的危险，虽然我

说明stability好。小龙是最典型的例子，穿flats跑得很好，后来换stability就重伤
，换回flats又好了。 |

A:让Stability的鞋子见鬼去吧，这种怪物可能是给美国
超级大胖子设计的，给我们一般人穿上跑步好像基本上在跑
版没有听说过任何好的评价。我个人也是上了档，穿了半年
多的Stability鞋子，膝盖差点废掉。 |
