从美国经几个法国大数学家在美国开始倡导，不仅在美国大行其道，西欧亦步亦趋。
新数学彻底改变传统数学，无论从内容，从教学法，还是考试选拔。
从 Kindergarten 开始学集合论，基本上取消传统的殴氏几何。
关键词：SMSG，后被戏称为some math,some garbage
New math是彻底失败，60年代后期被取消。
Reform math：
从1970s开始持续到现在
因为new math 彻底失败，1970年代美国开始提出back-to-basics的口号。
Reform math 又被成为 new-new math，以everyday math系列为典型。
Reform math 把大部分的集合论从小学数学当中去掉，但新数学的残余阴魂不散。所以
，理论不见了，离散数学的许多内容被强行加入到从Kindergarten自始的数学教育当中。
Reform math的特点是，强调推翻传统数学的学习方法，在kindergarten开始就开始使
用计算器，主张5＋3等于8不重要，重要的是要知道5＋3＝3＋5

在 Broadway 上有一个很好的书店，Strand Book Store。这我见到的纽约城里最好的书
店。里面的书品种多，也很便宜。还有很多绝版的书。就是环境差了一点，没有空调，人
太多，书架太高。它还有一个专卖艺术类书籍的分店，Hacker-Strand Art
Books，在57st。Scharpiro 的 selected papers IV 才要八块钱，便宜了二十。

【我为什么开始跑步】
和很多从小就喜欢跑步， 大学里就是长跑短跑健将（比如白老大）不一样。 我
从小痛恨跑步，大学里测试100米， 3000米我都是拼老命才能及格， 大一的体育
课， 因为全部是素质考试， 我才得了65分。 每次上完体育课， 俺都是要死过去，
躺在床上好久才能缓过来。
俺是从去年5月份开始跑步的， 在那之前都是couch potato, 体重达到170多磅，
大肚子， 血脂， 胆固醇， 血液铁含量都严重超标 （后面附上对比照）。
其实俺家小区一直就有个小GYM， 但是俺都懒得动。 直到LD开始要减肥， 去gym
跑跑步机。 俺就跟着一起去跑（刚好里面有两台跑步机)。 刚开始最多只能跑3000米，
5.5mph的速度， 还不如LD跑得快跑得远。
配合控制饮食， 2个月多后就瘦到了140多磅， 肚子迅速没了， 觉得跑步真是神奇。

Silver Strand 2010, 成绩 1：36：21 本来昨天在craiglist想买个号， 后来
失去了联系， 决定偷跑。。第二次跑Silver Strand, 去年是1：44， 算提高了
8分钟， 不过比上次多马的前半程（1：34）还慢， 估计是身体还没完全恢复。。
早上5点半起床， 喝了杯咖啡， 早上磨磨蹭蹭， 走的很急， GEL一个没带， 啥
也没吃， 到了以后发现厕所还是排长龙（只有4千人跑， 很多厕所， 不知为何），
继续回车小瓶解决回来开跑。 最快的pacer 1:30, 没多久就目送pacer远去， 因
为没有warmup, 感觉状态一般， 一开始就觉得累， 到了6迈， 已经比较累了，发

感谢大家。另外一部分照片是今年6月份沿着伦敦马拉松线路拍摄以及在泰晤士河附近

照片1：第一次参加长跑比赛，以每英里9分07秒的速度跑完了26.2公里的公里制马拉松。
照片2：跑完第一个全程马拉松（成绩3：56；每英里9分速度）的当天晚上，我们训练
小组所有成员和家属到一个餐馆的小包房吃庆祝晚餐，大人和孩子们一共28人。
照片3：跑完第一个半程马拉松（成绩1：43；12；每英里7分52秒速度）。
照片4-5：第一次长跑得奖，每英里8分10秒的速度跑完30公里（18.6英里），年龄组第

雨还在下，可是我们得下山了。本以为雨会变小，却反而让我们在下山时赶上
了一阵大雨。山路湿滑，周围雾气弥漫，即使开了车灯，能见度也不是很好。路过
Tunnel View的时候，我们赶紧先把车停了下来。又过一会儿，雨势渐收，阳光慢慢从
云层后面透射出来，雾气如同薄纱在山腰间飘荡。这景象和我们之前一天看到的
Tunnel View完全不同，这是雨后的旖旎风光，整个山谷宛若仙境。可能是因为雨水的
关系，今天在Tunnel View 我们不光看到了Bridalveil Fall，还看到了我们右边的“
仙乐飘飘”的Silver Strand Fall。

器材方面
相机：相对去年，今年进步很大，只买了一台相机: Fujifilm GF670。 这台相机帮助
我养成了走到那里都带着一台相机的习惯，同时也帮助我练习了旁轴取景器构图的能力
。今年绝大部分的片子都是用这台相机和去年底买的Bronica GS-1 拍摄的，可以算是
一个6x7年。6x7中画幅的出片画幅是4x5也可以说是今年在器材方面的重要发现之一。
胶片： 几乎全部采用新kodak portra 400，到目前位置还很满意。在纽约也找到一家
比较负责任的lab: LTI Lightside Photographic Services，价格贵一些，但另外一家
便宜的店manhattan color lab 出现过损害底片的现象。
明年的目标是在器材方面维持现状，最多再进一台中幅宽幅机器。

THe plasmid without digestion will generally have 3 bands based on the plasmid
configureation: the fastest one is supercoiled, the medium is linear ( both
strands of the plamsid were broken during extraction, and the slowest one is
the circular(one strand was broken). The quality determines the band pattern
in UNCUT plasmid.
