come up with equations to solve daily problems is still 早教.
Furthermore, I had a hard time to fathom the introduction of such "concept"
without mastering the more fundamental mathematic operations such as simple
addition and subtraction. Kids have to learn things in an orderly fashion.
Otherwise, you are putting the cart before the horse.

teacher pays more attention the little one will talk more and get more
involved in the classroom activities.
On the other hand I think the teacher may be teaching above the level of the
age. My daughter is a 1st grader and she just started working on
subtraction this year. |

另外我也同意都学多项式了，再纠结减法就是脱裤子放屁。。。看成负数系数（以及
negation of negation），然后统统（乘起来再）加起来就完事了。。。而且更符合
distributive property 的理解角度，也更符合 subtraction 本质是 additive

Town里上一年级。Town里做了screening test，结果说她ESL, literacy, math都达不
到上一年级的标准, 而实际是秋天的一年级学生人数爆满, K班则是人还不够.
我们和现在她上的K班老师meeting, 老师也认为academic 女儿上是没问题的.
但另一方面私校很想留下女儿. 老师讲留在私校继续上一年级没问题，转回公校只能读
K，否则social 方面有 concern. 但我们真不觉得她social有问题，她在playground玩
都会主动跟陌生小孩打招呼，很快就变成朋友一起玩, 两边的学校各种基于自己的立场
评价我女儿.
按照规定，我们去Superintendent Office去appeal了, 基于screening test fail, 我
们准备了一些女儿平常的写作读书数学之类的作业，也请现在她的上k的老师写封

与老师面谈时老师拼命夸孩子聪明，很棒，心想咋老中孩子自然好，不用担心。
但仔细想想：math 就place Value那项Very Superior. 其他Magnitude Comparisons,
Number Sequences, Addition/Subtraction 就Avergage这水平，是不是都要superior
才好啊？
第一个six week report来了，Math 99, Language Arts 95. Science 100,
SocStudy 100.
总的来说还剩满意。

班，
初中才开始分快班。我觉得转回普通班比较好。我娃也是学业advance, 平时我们也
没推，都是他自己要学. 虽然班上学的东西对他来说简单，但老师说他把自己的功课
做完后，经常在班上学业上帮别的小孩，开始develop leadership了。如果去gift班
这种因为学业先进而体现的leadership就不存在了。我这老师对学业上超过别的
小孩的学生也会加料。比如说别的K娃现在是listening comprehension, 我娃是
reading
comprehension. 别的娃是single digit addition/subtraction, 我娃是double
digits.
所以我觉得普通班更好。 |
