1. Oudenaarden在我心目中是个天才级人物。最近同一时期发表一篇cell和一篇
sicence。
其中science文章是从现象角度证明并量化一种假说 circadian gating的假说。其实就
是设计测量两种rhythm的相关性，并用物理量和模型（非常简单的模型，物理强调的是
简化问题，抓住问题核心）刻画这一相关性， Circadian gating of the cell cycle

Switching between synthetic and conventional oil does not cause problems.
Because the oils are compatible, you can switch back and forth as often as
you like.

至于你说的老车应使用W后面数字略高的机油，我也有点疑问，因为大多数的机油都有
high-mileage系列，那一类的synthetic机油里已经比正常的synthetic机油加入了更适
合老车的添加剂
比如manual说应使用5w-30的synthetic oil
那么在10w迈之后开始使用High-mileage的5w-30 synthetic oil好呢，还是这时候换成
5w-40的普通synthetic oil更好？
我自己的车已经13w迈，一直只用Mobil 1的Extended Performance Synthetic 5w-30或

，二是因为网上这样的中文介绍又很少。大多数移民美国在这里安家落户的中国人，对
美国的建筑及材料是陌生的，先从我们这一代熟悉的谈起。在中国，我们最早认知的就
是红砖房子，在北京地区，房屋外墙通常是用24砖，即一砖厚(24 cm)。 在东北寒冷地
区，房屋外墙是用36砖，即一砖半厚(36 cm)，房内隔墙则用半砖(12 cm)。
与美国木结构(frame) 外墙贴面的红砖房不同的是，我们的红砖外墙是承重的，后来发
展了，还加了钢筋混凝土构造柱和圈梁，砖混结构，就可以盖楼房了，这样的单元楼房
我们又叫家属宿舍楼，建筑规范也就允许盖到6层，有的地区到7层。后来地少人多，又
发展到了高层，钢筋混凝土框架结构，墙体用的窗门都是预留好的预制混凝土板，吊装
到位后，墙体的预留钢筋与框架的钢筋焊接，再用混凝土灌缝浇筑在一起。这样20层以
上的楼房在北京80年代比比皆是，我们叫它 “大板楼”。“大板楼”的缺点是墙体太
重，现在工艺又改进了，还是框架结构，但墙体采用空心砖，这样可以盖的更高，住的
人也更多了。

pros, it will hurt our elbows. For people with past or current elbow problem
, we'd better use soft poly and soft synthetic to soften the string bed. For
