中國大陸遵守的是美國主導的貿易規則,
臺資對大陸的投資當然是‘雙贏’策略,但這不等于說大陸可以面對700億美元的逆差
而無動于衷,看看韓國,日本,同樣對大陸有投資,規模技術哪點輸給臺灣,可出現
巨大貿易逆差的時候就可以采取措施,讓對方平衡逆差。

a state-owned enterprise (SOE), expects to lose $2.7 billion this year,
compared with more than $300 million profit last year, due to government
control of proces for gasoline and natural gas--first by the Chen
administration and, even before Ma Ying-jeou's victory in presidential race
(one of whose campaign pledges was to freeze those prices), by Ma himself.

Mr. Ma Ying-jeou in his presidential campaign played loose and fast. His
pledges showed he was ignorant, incompetent or downright lying. A few
questioned feasibility. Taiwanese bought them anyway. Now people--from
Taiwanese to Chinese to Americans--find out he is not a magician after all.
Everywhere the Ma administration and China turn, they encounter the
difficulty of Taiwan sovereignty, or lack of it. The issue is unavoidable.

second paragraph stated,
"With agreements on direct weekend charter flights and opening Taiwan to
Chinese tourists already reached through backdoor channels, the ARATS-SEF
talks will be the first-ever between the two sides where deals had been

(2) Upon reading it, my thought was,
"The agreement was reached between CCP Head (and China's president) Hu

But you are too old--you admitted that you are old. We only want young
people. We don't want retirees, who will need nursing homes and hospital

Remember, Dr. Morris Chang, who invented the industry of foundry and at
present chairman of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp. (TSMC) was an
American all right. But he was oiginally from Mainland China, then under
Republic of China though.

Thanks in part to two typhoons (which damaged crops), Consumer Price Index (
CPI) was 5.92% from a year earlier. The June figure was 4.97%, a 12-year
high.
The news was leaked and reported in a wire report yesterday; a Taiwanese
agency officially annunced the July figure today.
Among major trading partners of Taiwan, the June CPI figure for China, Japan
and US are 7.1%, 1.9% (released on Jul. 24); and 5% (released on JUl. 16).

growth rate for the first quarter, 2008 (when Chen Shui-bian was president)
had been revised upward to 6.25% (from rough estimate 6.06% reported three
months ago)

I knew it is complicated for outsiders. For example, when Pres. Hu Jintao of
China--People's Republic of China-- visited White House, the national
anthem that was played by American was that of Taiwan--Republic of China.
And the band was supposed to be professional!
This morning, around 9:15 am Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) I read this news
from a campus newspaper, Cornell University. I did not have problem with KMT
and CCP, but I could not figure out what "Republic of China" refers to.

is a nation.
Both lawsuits started before Ma Ying-jeou was elected.

What I said just now is hi-tech exports of China are made in foreign owned
companies. The "foreign" can be many; Taiwan is just one of them.
But don't blame me for using "foreign" because China uses that term, for
statistical, tax (and so on) purposes.
If you ask about the (69%) figure, it is everywhere. A recent (less than for
days ago) posting of mine, deals with that (under the title of Finanial

in another nation to grow crops.
Early last year, I proposed China buys out Taiwan, after a referendum among

Well, take employee buyout as an example. A company still HAS TO pay in that
situation.
Of course China's plan is if Pres. Ma Yong-jeou is president long enough,
Taiwan will fall into China the way a ripe apple falls to the ground. This
way, China won't pay a cent. The problem is a cheapskae gets nothing.
