不行。IRS Memo, Number: 201438020，http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-wd/201438020.pdf。
楼主的情况不行，不要用这个treaty。用了也许税务局稀里马虎不知道，但是如果找到
你的话，你没有机会赢官司。
Treaty本身，和这个memo，特别重要的一个词，是temporary或temporarily，或者是to
be temporarily present for the primary purpose of teaching等。
楼主说了现在申请绿卡。请问哪位能负责任地说，楼主的先生现在在美国还是
temporary 目的？绿卡一申请，没有人可以说自己的目的还是临时留美。不同意的请举
手。
进一步说，就算你还没有申请绿卡，拍着胸脯说一说，你来美国留学时，真是计划学成
就回国么？反正我不是。当初我一迈进美国的大门，就知道我十有八九会留在美国。
留学来美的很多人，如果是和我一样找机会准备留美国，其实，从第一天就未必符合

签证材料的Checklist （IMM5485E）要求交的表格有：
Completed Application for a Temporary Resident Visa made Outside of Canada (
IMM5257);
Completed Family Information (IMM5645)
比较疑惑的是
网站上还要求填Temporary Resident Supplementay Form。 这个表也要求填写Family
information。基本上跟IMM5645一样。
想问一下是否3张表都要？还是只要IMM5275和Temporary Resident Supplementay Form
就行了。
另外，看板上有人说，父母一起去的话，用一份材料就够了。但是这里http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/5256E.PDF 要求每人单独填一份。

发帖数: 52 | 5 LD6月13号递上的境内H4转F1签证到现在都没有消息，心里急得不行。只好跑去申请加
拿大签正，准备出境面签F1.
在版上找了n多案例，都说dc可以签，最新的经验是2012.5的。可是在加拿大使馆网页
上找到吐血也没找到 temporary visiting visa怎么申。而且说的和网上的经验都不一
样。硬着头皮仔细读notice才发现，从2012.6.18后DC不再接受 temporary visiting
visa了，只接受teporary visiting permit，查了半天发现，这个permit是针对加拿大
不承认的国家（例如美属群岛，岛国之类的）跟咱半毛钱关系都没有。咱要申visa...
查了下bufflo的使馆也关门大吉了，貌似东边只有纽约给发temporary visiting visa.
walk in的不用预约。
单次次往返75美刀（money order）
我们周一签的，让周四取，所以不是当天就能拿到。
差不多就这些吧，签证材料见官网。。

之前办理M1的时候，发现这方面的帖子很少，年底闲着，来码字。大家在美国不容易，
希望能帮到需要的人。
华人多的地方，有几个野鸡学校挂身份的学生M1签证。注意，这不是F1。这类M1入学要
求极低，就是盈利的，只要给学费，马上录取办理转身份。据说最好B2过期 前3个月递
交转M1的申请。据说太早不好，因为难解释为什么过来旅游那么快就变成要到学校了。
太晚也不好，免得B2过期了，M1还没有结果，万一被拒就很被动。申请很简单，学校有
“律师”的，把申请费和律师费给学校就可以了。只要申请材料没有大出错，基本都能
在美国转到身份。据说，如果是国内签M1出来的成功率也挺不错的。
M1交fulltime学费，某学校，网站不是edu结尾的，每学期三千刀，一年三个学期，发
I20。不少$$$了，但是能应急。每周偶尔去上几个半天的课。一挂可以挂3-5年，每年
都要renew一次。如果孩子是美国公民回来读书，而父母都没有身份又需要陪读的，这
学校比较适合这类陪读父母。可能也适合绿卡排期快到，而其他合法身份马上过期，又
不想回国的。

Intent的签证包括有H1b, H1c, L1, O1。
H1期间，如果申请了485，出境之后，还可以用H1回来。当然，你也可以用AP，你的H1
arguably 仍然有效。O1，如果已经递交了485，就一定要用AP重新入境。

拿了绿卡有什么好处？有了绿卡可以不必为签证而烦恼，回国比较方便，此外找工作时
可以少些限制，这可能是当初自己所能想到的好处了，而一旦递交绿卡申请，原来的签
证就不能用了，要申请EAD，免税从此就没有了，实际收入马上明显减少了。
后来有朋友问及办了绿卡可否以呆在国内为主，后来一查才发现，绿卡不仅会过期，而

，或许也能帮有些虫友省些钱和时间。I-140已批，I485还在等待。
I140是请刘姥姥手下的Christina T. Le 办的，虽然准备过程很辛苦，但还是
挺顺利。个人一作19篇，总共42篇，citations ～620， review 19，一个杂志的
invited editor, 一个小杂志的 lead editor，申请时按Ph. D的 material science
and technology 来归类。值得一提的是PP。当初很纠结是同时pp，还是追加pp的问题
，因为开始惧怕同时pp被送到杀手手里。咨询刘律师，他说不存在什么杀手，分配处理
都是随机的。加上追加pp要额外收律师费100$，所以就选择同时pp。实践证明是对的，
省时省钱
。所以个人认为，无特殊杀手存在，如果case还算强，就大胆同时pp。

I'd like to learn anyone who has done this before.
I'm thinking about selling our house and then buy one. Instead of going
through the stress to sell and buy at the same time, I'm willing to sequence
the two (i.e. sell first, move to a temporary apartment, and then buy.)
Has anyone done this? Did you rent a regular apartment and put stuff in
temporary storage before buying? Or you get a temporary apartment? Any
advice would be greatly appreciated.

签证材料的Checklist （IMM5485E）要求交的表格有：
Completed Application for a Temporary Resident Visa made Outside of Canada (
IMM5257);
Completed Family Information (IMM5645)
比较疑惑的是
网站上还要求填Temporary Resident Supplementay Form。 这个表也要求填写Family
information。基本上跟IMM5645一样。
想问一下是否3张表都要？还是只要IMM5275和Temporary Resident Supplementay Form
就行了。
另外，看板上有人说，父母一起去的话，用一份材料就够了。但是这里http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/5256E.PDF 要求每人单独填一份。

1，迅雷软件好像可以为你down下所有在线播放的音频，视频文件。
2，如果不想装软件，其实IE本身就可以为你保存下所有播过的音频视频文件在它的
temporary internet folder 里。以IE7.0为例，只要你可以在线听/看，你就完整的把
它播放一遍，然后在tools--internet options--browsing history--setting--view
files---temporary internet files, 打开了这个folder之后，你会看到好多杂乱的文
件，你可以按size把它们排序，这样音频，视频文件比较大，会排在最上面，这包括
MP3格式文件，FlV或SWF格式的文件。把这些文件拖到另外一个folder，重命名，这些
文件就偷到手了。嘿嘿。
用这种方法，大家常用的youtube, 土豆，spymac，xanga 上的文件都可以保持下来。
值得提醒一下的是，youtube比较狡猾，它的文件其实是flv格式，但是你在temporary
folder 看到的是一长串ge |
