faculty来说可以算是很牛B了，但是对于老方这种senior的已经搞了一辈子的人来说，
就只能算so so。不要说是院士，离aps fellow的级别也还差了不少。引用率最高的一
篇文章还是95年到了arizona之后跟老外合作的，被引118次，这也是方唯一一篇被引用
上百次的文章。可见方励之89之前确实没有做出过什么重要的工作，他的名声和地位绝
对是靠政治得来的，当然其中部分的也是80年在中国搞科普所得，必须承认科普工作也是
有重要的社会意义的。
(BTW，有人说你这个搜索未必完整。不错，确实不能保证100％毫无遗漏。但是我
用的search engine is THE search engine everybody in this community uses today.

1. 忘记历史意味着背叛。
不要用搜索引擎，有谁知道Issaquah， new castle和Seattle 发生过对华人的仇杀？
在 Bellingham的海岸上，有一块花岗石碑上刻着：“华人死线：华人不准越过此线，
1898-1903”
这是为了禁止当年世界最大的三文鱼罐头厂的华裔员工与附近镇上的白人居民交流而设
定的禁令。
华人在美国的历史中若影若现，在需要的时候有时候会在水面上冒个泡，更多的时候沉
没在历史的长河里。
这次版上声势浩大地质问为什么西雅图反Jimmy游行的规模如此之小，我想也许会对本
地华人社区的觉醒有一定的促进作用。
西雅图华人本该是对排华最最敏感的群体，可惜由于历史的隔断，很少有人意识到排华
对我们意味着什么。
今年的年中的时候，西雅图时报上已经有过一个关于历史上排华运动和华人新老移民的

案华人28日共被提控35项罪名，其中汇款以及邮件诈欺部分，最高可处20年徒刑，以及
最高25万元罚款。如果靠此分数获得入学签证，还将面临诈欺的联邦重罪。

巧地不拜票，但主持人倒是大咧咧的寻求投票支持。很遗憾的，这些已经走上华府春晚
舞台的指标性政治人物，竟然在关键的亚裔细分上暧昧不明，停留在十字路口。
如果你对过去两年的政治有些微的关心，应该知道有不少华人政客，从SCA 5开始已经
对自己的族群磨刀霍霍了。其实在江湖行走，没有不挨刀的，只是这个伤害来自所谓的
“自己人”，有点哑巴吃黄连的苦涩。如果我是民主党高层，一定很高兴华人有这些“
代表”。你看，这就是我们多元化的成就啊，而且这一元对其他元特别的体贴，先把自
己定位成privileged的群体，接下来割肉饲鹰在逻辑上也就理所当然了。请容我代表少
数族裔谢谢你们了。
这种割肉思维并不罕见。比如，从去年开始就有人在各种场合，问来自马里兰州的国会
议员候选人齐丽丽关于亚裔细分的表态，却从来没有获得正面回应。这不是划学区，涨
地税那种级别的问题，这是一个严重威胁大家生存环境的议题。身为一个重要公职竞选

had a lot of books but only used less than 1/4. If they can find good
recording with chinese traditional stories or "er tong tong hua" in chinese
would be good for kids to learn chinese. Their accent are very standard. |
