就注册去上课了，发现价格已经改了，是$19，
不过用promotion code (X2B-C8B-A94) 依然可以减少$2。
现在已经不能只是开着电脑耗时间了，我试着开机，但出去了3-4个小时，回来就要求
重新log in了。而且也不能直接参加final exam，必须答对各章的所有试题才能到达
final exam，而且各章的题目之后还有一题“security question”，就是问关于前面
学习材料中的图片、录像中的内容，所以还不得不点击看看，总共也需要不少时间。不
过有个节约时间的方法，就是先到问题的一页，看完问题再点击“previous”回到前一
页寻找答案，利用IE的“编辑”菜单下“查找（在当前页）”的功能可以快速定位。如
果中途log off再回来log in，得一页页翻过之前做过的章节，不过不需要重新做题就
是。到达上次退出地方，就自动加载之前这一章的内容。

算你上庭输了，也可以向法官要求traffic school。）
技术上，没有规定说Trial by Written Declaration输了之后他们要给你直接上
traffic school。只有规定说他们必须给你上庭，如果你要求。但是既然你有权上庭，
而上traffic school就是直接认罪、给钱、而且不占他们的上庭时间，他们应该给你直
接上traffic school的机会。我和其他人（大多数案例）遇到的法庭都是Trial by
Written Declaration输了之后会让你直接上traffic school。但是有很少的案例是说

只能作为参考，出不出庭还是要自己衡量一下。
背景：VA居民，在Manassas, VA被抓。
事件：去年12月底在从另一城市机场回家的路上超速被抓，限速45，说我开了61。
罚款金额：如果直接认罪受罚，每超速1 mile是6刀，加上62刀的法庭费，一共158刀。
因为是第一次吃罚单，不希望有记录影响保险，而且想着万一胜诉，所以决定出庭。
出庭前：
（1）按照以往其他人的经验，首先要做的是推迟出庭时间。打电话给法庭，要求将原
本1月底的出庭时间延后，结果延后到2月25日，后来再次打电话想延后，被告诉无法通
过电话延第二次，如果要延，必须书面申请，然后由法官在开庭的时候决定。这点VA和
有些地方是不同的，网上看到过很多地方可以电话或者网上延两次。
（2）坐了一些准备，例如想了一些辩护理由。请两个同学写了书面testimony，但后来
上庭时法官说无法接受书面证词（这应该也和每个州的法律有关），必须出庭作证。

前几天吃了第一张罚单，非法U turn，要222刀，选择上traffic school要261刀。有个
朋友说之前的做法是，先去上庭，希望能减掉一些罚款，之后再去上traffic school。
但是我的罚单上面写着“Referral to Traffic school after Trial is at the
discretion of the Judicial Officer”，想问问有多大可能性能减掉一些罚款，同时
又能去traffic school减掉记录呢？

还数次意图引导我向回开，甚至还出现过一次明显的软件崩溃，在它建议的路径中竟然
出现了类似飞机在空中飞行才有的直线路径。我最后急忙取消了traffic功能才得以最
终到达目的地。
我以前用的GPS没有traffic的功能，最近新买了Garmin765T，结果就出现了这样的事情
。不知道版上用过GPS的traffic功能的人里有人也遇到过类似的问题吗？是目前所有
GPS的traffic功能都不够成熟，还是就Garmin765T的traffic做到不好？还是就我买的

结束的时候说要送成绩去dmv，又要交14.95刀， 罚单ticket上当时说上traffic
school已经多交了60多刀了， 都是这样的吗？ 还是我被traffic school多收了费用

真是凄惨，上traffic school， ticket比不上要多交5，60刀， 完了网上还要交2次

如果你住在大都市附近，警察一般很忙的话，
一定一定不要图省事交钱了事，一定要上法庭fight.
因为警察不出庭的可能性太大了，超过三分之一。警察不出庭，你自动无罪。
也许找traffic律师更好，据我在庭上观察，律师知道警察是否出庭，如果警察出庭，
他会要求改期，再碰下次运气。
还有，你得ticket的时侯，注意一下是什么样的警察，如果是当地city的，以后出庭的
可能性大，如果是highway patrol 或pass by的， 出庭可能性小不少，所以更不要认
罪。
如果可能，尽量把court date拖很久以后，或改好几次。
我最近的两个ticket, 警察全没出庭。第一次，庭上三分之一的case dismissed, 第二
次更离谱，一大屋子人，最后只剩不到十个人需要trial。

可以要求traffic school。给不给是法官根据案件的情况决定。
根据法律，法官不能因为你选择了和警察对抗，或因为你输了，的理由拒绝给你
traffic school。
跟（第3）一样，法官可以给。但是问题是你trial by written declaration输了，没
有机会跟法官说话。你可以打电话去，但是你打电话是跟clerk说，不是跟法官。我觉
得大多数法庭，在这个情况，clerk会给traffic school的。如果不行，你总是可以上
庭，跟着在上庭的时候跟法官说（上面的第3）。那，既然你有上庭的权利，他们有什
么理由会不让你上traffic school呢（上traffic school，你给他们更多钱，而且不用
占用他们的上庭时间）。 |

1. 他们有这个选项就几乎肯定意味着offer给你上traffic school。网上给你的信息和
选项应该和courtesy notice上的一样。否则他们的网站编程不合理
2. 你也可以自己按照rule 4.104判断法庭是否自动offer给你上traffic school。绝大
部分罪都会自动给你traffic school，除非超速超过25mph或18个月内上过traffic
school。当然你也可以等courtesy notice看看。 |

自从iPad release以后，我去过几次苹果店。
iPad刚刚release的时候，我们去baby r us顺便到oakridge mall的apple mini store
看了看。本来店就小，里面熙熙攘攘，感觉就像北京上海高峰时间挤地铁。又过几天去
valley fair订iPad，虽然没有mini店那么挤，也大概相当于地铁平时的密度。
最近两个星期又去过两次valley fair的店，一次周末一次平时。iPad已经卖了好几个
月了，iPhone 4也出来了两个月了，store traffic应该回归“正常”了。感觉现在平
时的store traffic相当于去年weekend时候的traffic，weekend的store traffic相当
于去年Christmas。

年初的时候开车去南加，那时候天色已晚，路上也没有人，我索性就一脚油门，开到了
小100的时速。
结果没过一会就看见前面亮灯了，过了一会警车追上来，我靠边。 Officer很和善，笑
着问我开了多快。 要走了驾照之后回来给了张 ticket， 还很循循善诱的说，这次他
只写了 90+， 如果直接写一百的话，我就会被当场吊销驾照了。那时候心里暗暗感激
，也后悔自己开的太快。
回家后等了很久才收到法院的传单，罚款也没有我想象的贵（$366 + $73 traffic
school）.就在我准备交钱上课的时候，公司的同事建议我先extend,拖到最后再来个

之后我看到那附近好几个警车（有摩托有汽车）在转悠
估计是那天专门出来找超速的抓
今天收到法院的单子
说bail forfeiture $222.00 （抱怨一下，真贵啊）
or with traffic school $285.00
因为是我的第一张ticket，不太明白
我想问一下，这个with traffic school的贵几十块钱，为啥要去？
不上traffic school有啥坏处？去了有啥好处？

朋友说之前的做法是，先去上庭，希望能减掉一些罚款，之后再去上traffic school。
但是我的罚单上面写着“Referral to Traffic school after Trial is at the
discretion of the Judicial Officer”，想问问有多大可能性能减掉一些罚款，同时
又能去traffic school减掉记录呢？

一周前，法庭的结果出来了，Guilty
今天打电话询问traffice school的事情（从网站上看，我符合上Traffic School的各
项要求），结果被告知“法庭认为我Guilty，所以不能上traffice school”
这样的话，会被记一点，太郁闷了。请教各位，不让我上traffic school是哪里的规定
？我该怎么弥补呢？ |

另外，法庭给我一封信，里面没有traffic school 的选项，打self-service的电话，
也没有traffic school选项， online 查询ticket，说 "the case closed, this
citation is not eligible for any online transaction."
我是第一次被抓，不能上traffic school吗？还是我没被扣point,没有必要上traffic

我建议你上网上的traffic school。时间就自己安排。理论上是8个小时，但是如果你
会找答案，最多一两个小时可以完成。
每个traffic school不同。有时候，同一个traffic school不同county收费也不同。一
般网上的是$15-$30。可以从你的法庭批准的的网上traffic school一个一个去看哪一
个最便宜。

Traffic School.
想请教，是必须选择第二项，去法院规定的Traffic School后，才能消point吗？ 还是
可以自己先找网上的Traffic school,学习后付$264, 这样可以Close case并消点吗？
似乎网上的Traffic school只要付不到$20.
