母舰。那个时候是在2004年的春天，我当时就是跟着我们飞行队，跟着我的教练，那个
墨西哥人，一起去的。每次我们上航空母舰训练的时候，我们都是坐上大巴车，从欧克
纳德（Oxnard）的Point Mugu基地，经过三个多小时到达圣地亚哥（San Diego）的北
岛（North Island）军港，从那个地方上船。我们自己的基地虽然靠近海，但是港口水
不够深，航母进不来，我们也没有足够大的码头能让航空母舰停靠（Park）。
在去圣地亚哥的路上，我有些激动，但也不是太激动。我从来没有亲眼见到过航母，从
来没有站在这么大的一个东西的旁边，我只是在电视上和杂志、书刊中看到过图片、录
相，现在马上就要见到真正的东西了，所以有些激动。但是，我也不是特别激动，因为
我听到过别人说，你上去以后，就没有了很多在陆地上的自由，会很辛苦，很难受，很
不舒服。我当时的心情，就是一半一半吧，既有些兴奋，又做好了面对艰苦的准备。每
个人应该都差不多，你是去看热闹，当然会很激动，你要是真的上航母去工作，感觉就

，没有一个人不知道我的名字。比如说你去我们飞行队，你说你要找我这么一个人，你
不用说出我长的什么模样，你只要说出我的名字，所有的人都知道我在哪里工作。当然
，在军队里面他们全用我的姓，不用我的名。正规的叫法，每个人都一样，就是军阶加
姓。当然出去玩的时候，就可以直接叫名了。
也因为我干的很好，我在航线屋的上司（Supervisor）就对我说，你现在干的这么好，
就不用干一些太脏的活了，你就管分配工作吧。这样我就负责航线屋的工作分配，由我
来决定谁干什么，哪个新兵跟着谁，算是一个小头目、小老板吧。我们这些飞机维护长
和学员，每天谁去哪里，谁干什么，由我说了算。
我们每一个飞机维护长底下，都有学员（Trainees），就是受训练的人。他们要时刻跟
着他们的飞机维护长。就等于说，学员是飞机维护长的一条狗。飞机维护长去哪里，他
就得跟着去哪儿。飞机维护长干什么活，他也就得干什么活。
每个人都不一样。有的飞机维护长为了显示自己的权威，故意不教学员怎么干活，学员

Schedule）为主，因为飞机白天飞得多，要训练飞行员飞飞机，一会一架，一会一架，
这个出去了，下面一个又准备走了。它刚飞走，那个就该回来了。就这样，一架，又一
架，就是训练飞机，在空中转悠，转几圈它就回来了。我们加加油，检查检查有没有问
题，然后又是一会一个，一会一个地发出去，就是这样。所以我们白天的工作，主要以
飞行为主，不停地发飞机、接飞机。
如果白天太忙了，又有飞机需要洗，我们就把飞机放在洗飞机的洗机池（Spa）里，等
到下午上晚班的人来洗。他们天黑后一般就不飞飞机了，就是飞也飞的少了，所以晚上
我们航线屋的任务就是去检查飞机，去洗飞机。有时候我们不太忙的时候，别的车间如
果需要人，也会说，谁来帮我们一个忙。我们的上司就会让我们这些人去给他们打下手
。我们去车间干活，也是为我们以后进工种做准备。
有时候白天不太忙的话，我们白天也会洗飞机，能洗多少就洗多少。不过，这种情况很
少，因为那个飞机很大，我至少要放五个人在洗飞机上面，我们没有那么多人。比如说

其实本来是铁案的。
辩方突破口就是办案警员是racist,集中火力攻击检方证据。最早出案警员翻墙进入
simpson家，结果因为这个程序错误，很多证据被法庭拒绝。
还有那个著名的戴手套，完全让辛普森自己试戴，检方都没有人在监督是不是他做小动
作装着戴不进去。也没有辩解皮手套湿了以后会缩小什么的。
辩方套路和孙维一样，只要不停提出alternative就行了。
关键是burden of proof对控方要严格得多。 |

今天收到NIGMS director 的公开信，里面明白着说单个实验室不应该拿到超过三个R01
（除非是clinical research), 并明白指出这个动向的原因是：
1。在钱的总数有限的情况下，一个实验室拿到多的钱就会导致另外一个实验室拿到的
钱变少。
2。大实验室对博士后和研究生培养不利，因为导师的注意力被分散了。
3。从统计上来看，大实验室的成果并不和资金成正比

误导太多。 我个人建议：
1。明白自己性格是不是适合当兵，我当的很开心不等于其他人也会如此。 美国军人自
杀率远高于平民，一大原因就是精神压力。
2。既然决定当兵了，就不要把自己当活人了。 中国军人香是因为明显不会去死么。
美国军人就没这待遇了。
3。美军的福利待遇根本不优厚。 美军从列兵开始的是federal MW 做标准的，而且没
有超时工资，那么就是你做麦当劳也比当private trainee 挣得多。 我05年在伊拉克
的时候一年工资4万多（免税，而且我是E4) 相当于在美国6万？ 但是工作时间是13小
时每天，在华氏120-140的气候里背着75磅的装备步行13小时巡逻，有时候14天才能休
息一天。 这种时间折换一下，你稍微有个工作就有，而且不用丢命的危险。
至于各项教育资助，你知道tuition 不会是state univ. 大头么？ 学生费 只有打过仗
的 post 911 GI Bill 才有，没 deploy 过的享受不到。 我这种一次在海外作战15个

That indian just came out of India, knowing little about this society, who
is still learning to adapt the culture and how to respect his peers. An
Indian culture may teach him how to treat his supervisors and white people,
but certainly not his peers and trainees. Unfortunately, he has already had
some power in that hospital.
