你去跟孟子讲“孝”是“因为爱而对父母好”(这是墨家理论)，他也许会宣布你为“禽
兽也”(孟子评论墨家的原话)。但如果你去和苏格拉底说虔诚待神不涉及理性(现代神
学观点)，他也许会很感兴趣地让你继续，然后跟你讨论。这就是区别。
苏格拉底当然不是老好人。跟他站在一起讨论问题未必是一件赏心悦目的事情。他激烈
抨击过很多人。他言语尖刻当面称别人为笨蛋。他面貌丑陋衣冠不整。他不事生产没有
一技之长。他在私生活方面被人怀疑引诱男孩。他跟老婆打架。他被指责为“雅奸”在
