知道纽约是很贵的，在曼哈顿上班，所以考虑买upstate或者离曼哈顿近的其他郊
区，NJ地税听说很高，哪怕很小也不要紧，但不希望是不能出租的coop（听说Coop不能
让别人住自己家里，我不是拿来出租，但是每年父母都会来美国住几个月）。最好是能
有个两层的小房子就行了（可以和别人家只隔一堵墙的那种房子，我想独立的房子肯定
又贵了很多），一层一室一厅就行，一层60平方米就行，知道钱不多，但还是要考虑社
区安全，最好周边（离住的很近的地方）有中国超市。虽然觉得30万可以勉强接受，但
最好不超过25万，30万会让生活质量降低挺多。
能买的这麽便宜的房子吗？White Plains, Long Island, or ...? 大家有什么推荐的
地方吗？ |

发帖数: 288 | 3 按着火车线找，多看些地方，你就一个人commute，NJ,LI,upstate ny,一个小时内到city的挺多的，挨着town看房价和学区，40w以内的house是找的到的。
一个人工作压力风险比较大，有工作还能艰苦朴素一下，万一失业或者什么事就很难。还是找个便宜点的好。

这种计算humidity的公式很奇怪，
LA is NOT HOT all the time!!! People think it is like Florida or NY in the
summer. It is not. In most areas of LA, it is hardly ever less than 60 and
rarely more than 80. It cools down at night and you almost always need at
least a light sweatshirt - even in the summer.
The more inland you are the warmer it is. And the Valley is much hotter.
Sept is the hottest month of the year. June is the gloomest. If it's going
to rain, it is usually Jan or Feb.

LA is arid. NY is humid. but dont think for one second that it is still
comfortable in the summers. It may be 90% humidity and 85 degrees in NY, but
in LA it will be 95 and dry heat, with the sun beaming down on u.

in the outside, I don't feel anything at all. To be more clear, my backyard
was surrounded by tall trees and building, the terrian was a little sloppy
down. If you ever live in the New York upstate area where there are a lot of
trees, you will understand. |

barrow by barrow which takes about 200$ as part of that 2200$.

就是69kv, 115kv, 230kv 和 345kv, 只有345kv 主要用铁塔和铁柱。其他都是木桩为
主。也做部分new york state 的sub transmission, 因为有些地方地广人稀，不值得
投资太多，就把sub transmission line 和distrinution line 共享了。比方说
adrondeck park 附近。一根木桩上就是有一堆线路的。 |

去年秋天毕业前心脏疼，校医院不能进行心脏造影检查，被转到校外心脏专科。
在校外专科的高额账单随后被保险公司以pre-existing condition拒付，打电话去该专
科请求减免被拒绝，因为无法提供美国公民的低收入证明。
现在该帐单被校外专科转到collection agency，寄来一封信要求30天内回复一个memo
写明如何还款（马上全还或者分期全还），打电话去提出无收入请求减免被拒绝
因为现在是OPT期间intern无工资，所以完全没有收入，全部存款也不足偿付该账单。
请问有没有什么办法可以减免该债务或至少延缓collection向credit bureau报告？
（因为已经毕业，学校legal service已经不再提供咨询了）

rate is about 6.8% and city is roughly 3.4%, so people pay about 10% tax
living in the city.
BTW: the counties in upstate right outside NYC have the highest property tax
in the whole country. So that counts too. |

same situation as you last year.
First you should make an appointment with your local department of social
service, and bring your proof of income (F-1's payment stub), proof of
pregnancy (you can do it free in some organizations like Medicaid
Obstetrical Maternal Services (MOMS) Program, or do it in hospitals for
about $50), and your immigration status documents (like I-20, passport).

今天电费帐单到,208.最热的两个月还在后头.现在是两室一厅.空调几乎是24小时.设在
75-80度.
