But it was founded in 1994 or 1995 after Xuan Changneng(839)
wrote to Tang Honggao to set up such foundation. Currently
it is NOT very active, it mainly accepts RMB donation inside
China.
"USTC Alumni Foundation" was founded by alumni in USA back
in 1995, Xuan Changneng is also a co-founder.
BTW, if you google "Alumni Foundation", the first item is
"USTC Alumni Foundation" |

Last USTC delegate here, a professor in Ivy League school made
a comment with how he was treated when he contacted USTC with an intention
of visiting USTC in summer and lecturing on summer school. Similar story
heard not once.

deparment delibrately leave some positions open so, instead of fill all of
them at once, they can track and spot good people later and try to allure them
back.
Of course, maybe some folks do not wanna back to USTC and would rather go
to other schools. In such case, maybe USTC should branch out and lobby them
more. Hehe. |

itself is a special attraction for USTCAF to solicit increasing
number of donations :)
Maybe a good compromise is for those interested in USTC souvenirs
to visit USTC once in a while, give a seminar on your research or
business, and buy a USTC T-shirt at gift shop :)

for USTC will be very bad or a disaster for USTC long term prospect. What
is the difference between top 100 and top 500 or even top 1000 gauged with
Gao Kao? In middle 90's, I entered USTC with ranking of 3000's in my
province in Gao Kao. So what? Facts can tell that I am much better than a
lot of higher Gao Kao score students, either in T or B or Keda. We all know
confidence, conviction, determination, etc will make a |

Facebook吸引了近2000位校友注册。
中国科大校友网络(USTCAN.org)首页
近来来，科大校友活跃在瀚海星云、未名空间、LinkedIn、Facebook与校内网等多个网
站或论坛。从90年代末开始，中国科大曾经建立了多个校友网络平台，例如GAN (gan.

to help Yi Bing family -- in US alone, US$26K was raised and passed to Yi

USTC-SV i.e. USTC Alumni Association in Silicon Valley is
a registered non-profit organizaion in the State of California
since 2002 with EIN 06-1662608.
USTCAF i.e. USTC Alumni Foundation is a registered non-profit
organization in the State of Delaware since 1995 with 501(c)(3)
tax-exemption status.
On the other hand,as admitted by Mr. Joe Liu, USTCIF is NOT
an officially registered entity in China.

1. 新创基金会发布中国科大新年与春节贺卡是三年来的惯例，得到中国科大的许可。
2. 中国科大2011年新年贺卡的发布，新创基金会已得到三相关部门的授权。中国科学
技术大学（官方）校友总会、党政办公室与新闻中心（宣传部）负责人均明确表态支持
此事。事实上，学校相关部门不仅授权，而且两个部门负责人都问，干嘛有人在乎这个
？这就是科大问候一下校友么？

应86级校友组成的聚会筹备委员会要求，受校友总会委托，新创基金会首次为中国科大
校友毕业20周年聚会活动开通专题网站。中国科大网络中心特别为聚会网站开放网址
reunion.ustc.edu.cn，方便校友记忆。
“毕业20年，我们回家去”网站由一位来自中央美术学院的设计师设计完成，专题网站
以怀旧色彩为主，首页为86级开学典礼与校园等老照片，背景音乐为“光荣属于八十年
代的新一辈”。岁月如梭，离开中国科大校园20年之后，86级校友重温这首曾传唱中国
大地的流行歌曲，或许对歌词 “再过二十年 我们重相会”感怀颇深。

又到了选举产生新一届的中国科大校友基金会理事会的时间了。欢迎您投身参与本次选
举，包括投票和参选！
选举日程：
1. 本次选举的投票时间为美东时间2011年11月1号零时零分开始，美东时间2011年11月
14号23时59分截止。
2. 您通过电子邮件发送的选票的时间戳（time stamp）是我们判定您的投票是否在上文
提及的时间区间以内的唯一标准。其它的判定合格选票的规定请参见理事会2011版章程
（章程全文见http://www.ustcaf.org/en/about-us/governance/bylaws/157-
bylaws-2011 ， 选举相关的条文见于III-4）。
3. 在本次选举中，共有二十个理事会席位开放供选举产生。其中按得票数从高到低，
前十位当选理事的任期为两年，余者任期一年。详细规定见于2011版章程的III-4-p
条文。
4. 本次选举，候选人的提名（可以自我提名，也可以提名他人）的截止日期是美东时

我们在新一期校友简报中，转载了一篇轻松的东东，是两首歌:P
2011年底开始，《裤子大老男孩》《USTC生活好多乐》等两首歌曲被科大校友师生热捧
，我们特向校友推荐。
《USTC生活好多乐》仿佛是中国科大版《生活大爆炸》——词曲作者在校学生，他们是
中国科大炫音社韩菁菁（07少）和赵若灿，说的是“在那黄山路边安大对面有一群学术
帝，他们勤奋又努力，他们寂寞又空虚，他们踏破铁鞋走出校门来到了安大西，发现终
生幸福还是在隔壁”。我们向您推荐这曲爆红网络的歌曲，期待勾起您对科大青春的回
忆！我们的母校是“女生的天堂，男生的地狱”。听到“勾引妹子都是靠自习”，地狱
里走出来，你懂的。
而《裤子大老男孩》则是9411双人组孙伟与裴晟在上海校友会年会献唱的歌曲。如果说
《USTC生活好多乐》是青春诙谐的风格，那么《老男孩》则有更多的忧伤———那首歌
唱的“金寨路上已经跑高架，可是哪里再寻湘皖啊，只好坐在门口咽咽口水，看来往行
人”。是的！“黄山路上已如此繁华，也换不回那往事年华。”

directly to them from USTC. Does anyone here know how to do this. I check
the ustc website, only able to get how to do it in person, but not by mail.

1. web界面登录bbs
2. 选择 个人工具箱/个人资料 身份重认证
3. 输入邮箱地址 提交
系统会给邮箱发一封认证邮件
4. 在邮箱中收信，单击其中的链接，完成重认证过程
5. 重认证后,BBS用户身份会与邮件地址关联
@ustc.edu.cn和@mail.ustc.edu.cn用户依据用户的身份状态自动识别为教工、学
生、校友身份
@ustc.edu 用户暂被识别为校友
其他邮箱全部识别为校外人士 |

大家好，
新的一学期就要开始了，我们又迎来了一年一度的迎新聚会的校友活动。欢迎广大的校
友朋友们积极参加9.14将在Sandy Point state park 举行的USTC校友聚会活动。无论
你是初到华府，还是扎根已久，或者已是社会成功人士，本次聚会必定是
您结识新朋友，约会老朋友的好机会，也是工作学习了一周周末放松的好时机。活动以
在海边barbecue为主，会有一些工作的老校友给我们的新生同学们简短介绍在美国生活
工作的情况，同时会有一些小游戏丰富野餐活动。
聚会相关信息：
时间： 9.14 周六
地点： Sandy Point state park

费用：新生免费，老生和工作的人$10每人，另外公园门票$5刀，请自己缴纳。油费建
议主动和carpool的人share。收取费用用于统一购买烧烤食材、工具、饮料、餐具等聚
会必需品。
活动方式： barbecue 烧烤。鼓励大家积极自带菜。
集体活动可以踢球，打球，飞盘，拔河，沙滩排球和各种趣味小游戏，另外公园里面可
以钓鱼，钓螃蟹等等。

标 题: 纪念柯民先生--呼吁不是他的校友的人也来捐助

刚刚看到网络上的介绍和照片，确定逝者就是与我曾经有过数面之缘的柯民。我不是科大
的，也不是斯坦福的，但决定也捐一些。在此也呼吁有条件的人不要考虑是不是他的校
友，也可以尽可能的捐助一下。虽然他已经离去了，但在经济上帮助一下他的家属也是
有意义的。柯民是个很友善的人，是个值得尊重的人，也是北美华人中为数不多的坚持
走创业道路的人。他的精神是值得敬佩的，是有鼓励作用的。
我和柯民在几年前相识的时候，他正在在从事云计算方面的创业，当时应该还没有付费
客户，也就没有盈利。我当时也曾经劝过他改做消费互联网，他回答说“在硅谷还是
要拼技术的”，我也就不好再说了，也没有太多的细节可说。现在想来有些后悔，如果
自己能够多做一些准备，提供一些更详细的想法，是不是会起到一点作用。他对自己的
