发帖数: 13 | 1 MJ的PGM在2000中期就基本上不太搞了，搞得多的其实还是daphne koller（她现在也不
搞了）。后面的帖子有人说MJ是Bayesian，其实他自己说他也不是。他写PGM的时候是
，写consistency的时候又不是了。我感觉他现在渐渐远离Bayesian了。看他说的error
bar，就没几个Bayesian会这么关心的。说到big data，诞生spark的AMPlab，MJ也是
director。他其实也没miss什么，他主要是理论和应用，系统方面贡献不大罢了。
interview里最赞同的就是error bar了，看看现在的data driven的公司, 基本就是
improve 一下ROC就觉得自己萌萌的。也不知这些曲线的variantion有多大，在什么样
的情况下有多大。 单个的产品也就罢了，反正可以roll back。要是有别的产品依赖于
这个产品输出，那这个variantion是会放大的。到时候就是各种推诿，各种politics，
然后就是各自为政。要想真正scale data driven的approach, 还是有好长的路要走。

lz想以GCM的水平精度为2度证明三峡面积小，在GCM中不足以产生影响。这有几个问题
1）首先你要承认GCM是准确无误的。三峡问题本事就是争议问题，有论文指出GCM可以
准确预测水利工程对气候的影响么？请给出出处。
2）GCM的用处。顾名思义，是对全球长时间气候做研究的，比如厄尔尼诺现象，看的是
时间跨度几十年的事。论据：GCM无法考虑火山爆发等现象对气候的短期影响（参见
wiki）。而三峡就是这样的事件。所以GCM无法对三峡的影响做判断。
3）最致命的，GCM的精度的确定标准是什么？lz的逻辑是，GCM的确定标准是达到这个
精度就足够了。但事实是，由于计算能力所限，只能在这个精度上进行建模。因为精度
加一倍，意味着计算量大4倍，成指数增长。所以这是个妥协。这完全不能证明这个精
度够了。而事实是，这个精度完全不够。我非专业，只能用wiki，引用如下。事实是，
现有模型HiGEM就比lz引用的数据精确多了（精度加一倍，计算量大4倍）。而作为用作
天气预测的模型，其精度比HiGEM还要高。所以lz引用数据错误，这是他最基本的论证
