candle light vigil, if you want to raise awareness, leave the stuff in place
(put out the candles). If it's a plain vigil,no substances attached, then

你不觉得这晚会那晚会里的煽情从来都与真实的感情背道而驰么？
四川地震那会儿我在uiuc。学生会在union外面组织了一个vigil night. 以前我参加
的vigil night是很静谧的。本来么，真正的哀悼应该是有自省的力量的。
结果这几个学生会的人，看得出来以前大概是参加过学校里的朗诵会什么的，跑出来用
哭一样的声音通过高音量麦克风说了一大番中华民族在危亡之中，婴儿在大地上哭泣之类
极尽渲染的词汇。结果又象国内的赈灾晚会那样成了一种宣传形式，把心里倘若有一点的
悲痛都挤走了。

基本原理，在醉钢琴的文字里得到很好的体现。
首先她写的东西，内容统一于一个很鲜明的主题，但是又通过多个角色的diversity
来体现varity (unity and varity)。其次她的rythm和balance也把握得很好。
小说写出了诗歌的rythm，事件变换穿插得有条有理，不同人物的着墨也balance
得恰到好处。
这里想特别指出的是她的repetition。象
“salvage，拯救。Salvage，拯救。 Scattered，散落的。Scattered，散落的。
Shatter，击碎。Shatter，击碎。 Sketchy，简略的。 Sketchy，简略的……”和
“Tyro，新手。Tyro，新手。 Uproar，喧哗。Upoar，喧哗。 Vanity，虚荣。 Vanity，

我是其中的志愿者 今天早上分配在学校里最繁忙的Union Building 一些经验可能会给
以后搞募捐的学校一些帮助
首先 要做好细节上的准备 早上的募捐活动推迟了 因为CSSA的主席没有向学校说明募
捐的地址 所以拿到的许可只是晚上candle light vigil的时候的 后来匆匆搞定 定下
来的四个地点也变成了两个 准备好的海报也没有打印出来 这个比较可惜 如果能有几
张醒目的poster 比法很多flyers管用 还有flyer上面写的donation website都是中文
的 应该找几个英文的
今天是学校的commencement day 好处是人多 很多家长都和学生一起来 他们比学生更
有可能donate 而且仪式就在union theatre 所以必经之路我们都能照顾到 坏处是很多
人觉得这个不是个好时 |

有「玩具箱杀手」之称的美国连环性虐杀人魔大卫帕克雷(David Parker Ray)，虽然已在数年前就已在监狱中去世，但警方一直未查找任何被害女子的尸体。美国联邦调查局日前公开了大卫的虐人工具，并且宣布将继续搜查位于墨西哥州一个疑似埋有受害者遗体的峡谷。
陆媒报道，1999年一名被害女子维吉(Cynthia Vigil)脖子戴着狗项圈及锁链，赤裸从大卫家逃出，并向警方表示遭到虐待。警方拘捕了大卫后，在他的家中发现一辆被他称作「玩具箱」的改装车，装有手术用的工具和摄影机，警方认为这是一处虐待及杀害被害者的地方。
这次警方公布的工具包括锁链、手铐、鞭条和性玩具等，其中更有一个可以将头颅塞进的木箱和一具棺材，以及多张女子被虐待的照片。大卫甚至自夸有40人落入他的魔掌，却不肯透露埋尸的地点。
警方事后经过大规模的搜查，发现大量的性虐工具与性爱录像带，并且以37条罪名控告大卫。大卫于2001年被裁定绑架、虐待及强奸等罪嫌，判刑223年，但大卫2002年却在狱中死亡。
