3. a lot of stuff are not covered by warranty, for example if you you
never change engine oil for 50k miles and the engine dies, warranty does

很危险了，必须马上换。今天去了sam's，右前台tread只有3，其它3个轮胎还是7。SAM
'S说，已经过了4年的sam' warranty，不过MANAGER 同意给换，但是只给$10 discount
,换了同大小，但是不同型号的michelin 轮胎。原价$86-$10 discount.
我原来的Michelin写的65,000迈 warranty, 但我只开了28，000迈。给Michelin打电话
，说这个warranty 他们只管从dealer 那里换得，从walmart,sam's 要依照店里的
warranty,sam's 给4年就是4年。
钱不是唯一的问题，我不懂轮胎的warranty怎么执行，比如不到65000迈，出了问题怎
么算？是按比例还是全保新的。轮胎这种东西部较特殊，我们不能拆下来寄过去，那么
sam's 不管怎么办呢？ |

Dealer 那里说有VW的 7 years extended warranty (实际上是additional 4 year + 3
year manufacturer warranty), 要1000 dollar. 因为这是个大dealer,想也没想就买
了。 回来看了条款, 上面写的是Portfolio, 没有一个Volkswagen的信息，感觉不像是
VW的官方warranty， 看了800电话，好像是一个保险公司，网址是http://www.portfolioreinsurance.com/
请问各位这就是VW官方的extended warranty，还是一个普通的保险公司？如果只是一
个保险公司，和买Geico的7 years extended warranty (Geico叫Mechanical
Breakdown Coverage）有什么不同？

Paid a little extra for an extended warranty - about 3 yr and 59K miles,
bumper to bumper warranty. Returned my leased car to this dealer and they
will take care of wear and tear, cosmetic fixes, and restocking, and last
payment..
Total is 29.6K OTD.

如果加$680
bumper to bumper 加到 6 years 100K miles
主要考虑问题：
1。Power train-life time 不能transfer,如果6年内卖车的化，有bumper to bumper
warranty 会比较容易 （不过卖的可能性很小）
2。 怕万一车什么地方坏了，修比较贵 （不知大家对Nissan评价如何？）。
3。 为了保持Power train-life time warranty， 必需在dealer 换机油。看到有帖子
说过了warranty dealer 会故意让车出小毛病。（是不是真的啊？）

2010 年年底撞鹿，AUTO BODY 修了近1万，保险COVER。
今天早上开车时发现CHARGING WARNING LIGHT 亮了，同时POWER STEERING 失效。把车
拖到DEALER, 检查发现ALTERNATOR BELT 的螺丝，螺母都丢掉了。需要重新ORDER，装
上，大概需要$500. 问题是，DEARLER 说由于螺丝不紧，长期碰撞周围的零件，可能即
使换了新螺母也不行,那样的话，要换整个ENGINE。
DEALER认定，由于是AUTO BODY 修过的，EXTENDED WARRANTY 不会COVER.找AUTO BODY
，他们推三阻四，最后决定来INSPECT， 说是如果他们认定不是他们的责任，所有的费
用都由我们承担。
现在的问题是，这个事情总有一方要负责的吧？无论是DEALER（因为有EXTENDED
WARRANTY) 还是 AUTO BODY (当时也说他们的SERVICE有LIFETIME WARRANTY).

3年 warranty 马上要过了，刚才接到个电话推销 extended warranty， 4年75000迈，
要3千大洋。还说只打一次电话，不接受的话就没有了。搞的我小紧张。后来查了一下
，建议第三方 warranty 不要买。后来问了下，果然第三方，就拒绝了。
其实有兴趣买个 warranty, 但不知道划算不。VW 官网上没有列出续 warranty 的
plan， 只有买新车或者旧车的。

，而且可以在厂家的4年保修到期前取消，退全款。我当时没多想就要了，反正可以退
钱。
但是今天看GEICO的保险发现有一项Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI），半年$
56，保up to 7y/100K miles, deductible $250. 刚刚给GEICO打电话问了MBI的事情，
被告知这个就相当于extended warranty，只不过有250的deductible而已。
我是不是double insured? 那个$2000的厂家延保没必要了吧？

他们正在搞活动，从4年免费延至5年。但是前段时间收到VOLVO的warranty extension
notice,我就打去电话问,接电话的人一直超级牛哄哄的说你的只有4年，dealership说
的不算数。 请问各位有这样相似情况的吗？我后来去了封email给当时那个sales
manager, 他没理我。汗死，这个要如何要回少给我的一年的warranty?

warranty里total了，钱是不能全要回来的。是按里程和时间折旧的。我第一俩新车哦
一年后就出事total了。extended的warranty就损失500左右。而且问题是在原厂的
warranty里。事实是你只买了extra几年和里程的warranty。
当然誰都不想出事，但经不住别人找你。

Direct means that you apply auto loan directly from bank/credit union while
indirect is you apply through dealer.
The banks/CUs compete with each other at each dealer so that dealer will

miles, 8yr/120k miles, $0 deductible, $100 deductible.
The one you mentioned sounds like third party lifetime warranty sold by
dealers. It's not a good plan as the warranty may only be accepted by the
dealer that sold you the plan. Also lots of them require you to do factory
maintenance plan in their place and you must not past the required mileage.

manufacturer warranty up to 1 year.”就是比如原来有3个月Warranty，延长到6个
月，但是如果原来有2年，只能再延1年。

时不时就自己power off了，只能拔掉电源再重新插上Modem才能重启。有时候一两个小
时要来个5/6次，有时几天才又一次。打电话给Comcast，测来测去告诉我信号没有问题
（能连着的时候当然没问题）。
于是从AMEX file了一个extended warranty，三天后case closed，我电话过去问什么
结果，说是我在claim中原本添的信息是厂家warranty 0 day，由于厂家不提供任何
warranty所以他们have nothing to extend。他们能extend的是厂家所提供的warranty。
可恶的Motorola, Modem的warranty不提供给个人用户，只给像comcast这样的公司...
哪位用Motorola SBG6580，有类似的问题吗？知道怎么解决的给个建议，谢谢 |

发帖数: 312 | 44 这两题是一样的，销售总和（600+1500+2100）乘以warranty rate总和（2%+3%+4%）=
warranty liability；
然后减去实际产生的费用就等于剩下的liability。
因为这些费用在产生时，就会debit liability， credit cash。所以warranty费用产
生时，warranty liability就会减少。
以上是我的理解。
如果第四年后，第一年的warranty liability有剩余，还要做调整（partial reverse
）---如何调整，我不是很肯定。查查书再告诉你。 |

发帖数: 472 | 45 2006年Honda CRV, 23k miles, 前一阵子发现后轮响，去dealer那里查，被告知"rotor
is excessively rusty"，需要换rotor和brake pads。我车还在bumper-to-bumper
warranty里，但是dealer告诉我这些零件属于易损件，warranty不cover。想想车还比
较新，就花４００刀把车修了。
回家后看了看当年买新车时给的warranty，发现易损件名单上没有列rotor，就给Honda
的customer service写了个信，把情况介绍了一些，看看有没有可能把钱要回来。几个
星期后收到customer service电话，被告知 dealer说我的车放到外面时间太长生了锈
，所以应该自己负责。当时就恼了，这不是胡扯么，就告诉客付这是dealer捏造的。客
付就让我把收据fax给她。又过了一个星期再次收到客付电话，被告知这些零件属于易
损件，warranty不cover，这个"case is closed".
觉得挺冤的，Honda所谓的bumper-to-bumper warranty就是骗人的。不知 |

州的dealer价格给的合适，但是她说，California department of insurance 规定不
能从外州买warranty。
觉得很奇怪，因为很多人都是从外州买warranty貌似，不知道有这回事么。
另外就是买warranty一定要用他们一个什么key reader读自己的key来确定车的使用状
况。
请问在外州买warranty具体是怎么操作的呢？ |

warranty是不可转的。有谁有这方面的经验吗？不想以为可以转，就买了，等发现没有
warranty，倒不光是钱的问题，就感觉不那么reliable了。
我应该搞清楚什么方面的情况呢？怎么判断这个warranty是可转还是不可转呢？
