爱德华·霍普（英语：Edward Hopper，1882年7月22日－1967年5月15日）是一位美国
绘画大师，以描绘寂寥的美国当代生活风景闻名。
爱德华出生在纽约州的奈亚镇（Nyack），并在纽约市学习商业艺术与绘画，他最重要
的老师，也是对他画风影响最大的人是美国早期都会写实画风的推广者罗伯特·亨利（
Robert Henri），这位老师最常要求学生的是：他们的创作要“引起世界的骚动”，这
些学生们几乎都成为了美国重要画家，并被评论家称为垃圾桶画派（Ashcan School）。
在爱德华·霍普完成早年教育后，他曾经前往欧洲三次，主要在研究欧洲新兴的画风，
但他独树一帜的舍弃了当时立体主义画派的抽象潮流；而走向写实画派中的理想主义（
idealism）这一点可从他早期画作中看出。
